I had contacted a reputable law firm in the Asheville area for a family member's real estate matter and because the caseload there was too heavy to take on another client, the firm recommended I give attorney James Lee III a call. He was whip smart, resourceful and spoke with a deep understanding of real estate law. Also an excellent listener, he took in the details of my situation and provided different options on how to proceed. Having consulted with attorneys practicing in many different fields in the past with varying levels of experience, I knew immediately that this was someone my family member would need to hire once all of the information on the conflict is gathered. To have been referred by a firm with a huge presence in Asheville means this is an attorney of excellence. My experience corroborated that as well.

I have been in business for many years. I never expect perfection, but I do expect a modicum of efficiency and at the very least a returned call within a reasonable time. Mr. Lee delivered neither. I hired Mr. Lee to handle a simple real estate transaction and also an eviction. On both cases he failed miserably. I was forced to hire another attorney for the real estate transaction because he simply didn't provide a review of the contract I provided nor did he return calls or emails. We were already in the process of the eviction. Mr Lee represented my business and, in my opinion, we got outsmarted by a legal aid attorney. When I presented a counter offer, Mr. Lee refused to approach my tenant's attorney and suggested "You should take what they offered". Not what I have ever experienced with any attorney. He seemed unwilling to negotiate at all, but seemed to comply with every tactic the legal aid attorney presented. Mr. Lee also failed to file the necessary lien paperwork with the state in order for me to collect monies owed. Mr. Lee was paid in full as I always adhere to my business philosophy, "When we part ways, you'll miss me a lot more than I'll miss you".
