I usually don't give one star reviews. I'm going to keep it simple since this guy is a lawyer. My experience there was not a pleasant one. It is my opinion that you shop around before choosing this particular business. Again this is just one person's opinion. Have a nice day!

They did not provide basic information for handling a Deed of Trust on a real estate sale. I contacted another attorney who gave me the statutes governing this situation. Someone emailed (no formal bill) from Mewborn saying I owed them $500 for their incomplete, inaccurate and erroneous work. I refused to pay and contacted them and explained my costs in contacting another attorney and also provided them with the appropriate statute that they should have given me so they could apply it to future clients. They sent a bill to the closing company and had it included in the closing paperwork without prior notification. So there was no way to dispute the bill without negating the closing. Sneaky, no integrity and frankly they don't have a grasp of the North Carolina Statutes.

I have been using Mewborn & DeSelms for several years, and have never been disappointed! I most frequently use them for real estate, but I've also used them for corporate documents, wills, even speeding tickets. The staff there is fantastic, and I've always had great experiences. I highly recommend!
