From my Husband- Roy Jacobs was the absolute best lawyer I could’ve asked for. He fought the most difficult fight for me and my daughter. With jurisdiction issues to many other issues, him or Azeala were one call away. My custody battle was long and extensive, and even though the case ultimately ended up closing in another state, he was there for every question I had through the process. He was understanding and wanted the same thing I wanted, my daughter to be safe. In the end, thanks to his help from day one, my daughter now has the safety and stability she deserves. About five years ago, I contacted the registrar of deeds to obtain a certified copy of my marriage license (both by phone and mail). I was told there was no certified record of it, even though I had the signed original "marriage certificate" from the magistrate. I was told this was a complimentary copy and would most likely need the services of an attorney in order to get a Delayed Marriage Certificate. After contacting a local attorney, I was told I would need to get letters from friends, family, etc. documenting that they knew me (and husband) as a married couple. I would also need copies of anything and everything to prove we presented as a married couple. Once I had this information, the lawyer said it would cost a few thousand dollars to go to court to get everything taken care of. It took me two years to gather all the information and letters, and thankfully the attorney was no longer in a position to assist me. I was referred to Cape Fear Family Law. A small consultation fee of $200 and a video chat with one of the lawyers was all it took. The lawyer researched the files during the meeting and found the marriage license - in the archives!! I went online and submitted the necessary information, money ($10 per copy) and return envelope. Within a week I had my certified copy of my marriage license. Still trying to figure out why the certificate couldn't be located five years ago, but I have it now. I am grateful the attorney at Cape Fear Family Law took the time to research the records to find that marriage certificate. Cape Fear Family Law listened and took the time when others would not. The $200 consultation fee was worth every penny to get this situation resolved. THANK YOU SO MUCH!! Great lawyers, reasonable price!!

I had the pleasure of working with attorneys Roy Jacobs and Janet Gemmell, and I could not have asked for a better team. My child custody case was complicated and long (4yrs), but Roy and Janet were with me every step of the way. What impressed me most is they were always accessible whenever I needed them, they provided timely responses (even on weekends/holidays), and were true professionals/masters of their craft. Both Roy and Janet know the law and how best to tackle your case!! Courts can be intimidating, and emotions run high; however, they were always cool, calm, and collected in their demeanor and meticulous in their work.
