He was my court appointed lawyer and the best lawyer I’ve ever had… I was charged with felony possession and drug paraphernalia. I needed a lot of help and wanted it! He was able to get my charges dropped as long as I went to substance-abuse therapy, tasc, and some other things! He waived his fees for me as well!
I would hands down recommend Ray to anyone asking and would definitely go back and pay for him if I ever needed him! He helped save my life and I’ll forever be grateful! ❤️

I recommend attorney Ray Hayes to anyone needing help with drug charges or any other criminal charges because he is a great lawyer. Mr Hayes is very professional and got the job done for me. I had charges against me that I did not commit. Mr Hayes was able to convince to district attorney that I was innocent and I and my charges against me dismissed. He is very polite respectful and professional. I recommend him to anyone in need of criminal Justice.

What a wonderful experience working with Ray Hayes, A true privilege. Attorney Hayes was extremely understanding and compassionate to my individual situation and circumstance. Met every need as a professional. When my court date neared Attorney Hayes communicated the dates and times. Attorney Hayes walked me through the process of what to expect. Complete and utter satisfaction as a client.

Attorney Ray Hayes, is an exceptional attorney, who does exactly what he says, he will try to do. He returns phone calls, and he is a good Christian man that cares about his clients. He goes above and beyond the call of duty, charges a very reasonable fee, and does not nickel and dime you. I regret that I could only put five stars for him because in reality I would give him 5,000 stars. I was charged with Assault With A Deadly Weapon With Intent To Kill. He got my case dismissed by the state two months before my court date proving I acted in self-defense. I am a former paralegal and have worked with several different attorneys and at the Forsyth county Courthouse . He is by far the best attorney I have ever dealt with, and I highly recommend him. He is someone you can truly trust in your time of need. I hope and pray I never need another defense attorney, but if I do, I will definitely go to him. He is the absolute best!

My father acquired Mr Raymond Hayes for me while I was incarcerated for a parole violation that was a result of being charged with felony drug possession, and possession of drug paraphernalia. After a consultation, my father paid a $7,500 retainer to insure his representation of me on the parole violation and the new charges.
The following day Mr Hayes came to visit me in the county jail and the first thing we went over was the fee agreement to secure his representation. Mr Hayes initially had the fees set at a total of $12,500. Of which he stated $2500 was for representation at the parole hearing, and the additional $10,000 to represent me on the new charges which included pre-trial and trial representation if it were to come to that. Because I was aware of the circumstances involved with my case and knowing only an extremely small percentage of criminal cases make it to trial, I specifically stated to Mr Hayes that a trial would not be required, as we both are aware that the majority of criminal cases are resolved without a trial through either a plea or dismissal, to which he agreed. So I stated the included fee for trial wasn’t necessary, and Mr Hayes marked out the $12,500 amount and wrote $7,500 in its place. After doing so I agreed to his representation and signed the fee agreement contract. I was unable to receive a copy of the contract due to me being incarcerated at the county jail and Mr Hayes not having readily access to a copier.
Mr Hayes represented me at my parole hearing where I was sentenced to 90 days. While incarcerated I received a letter from Mr Hayes stating my next court date was set for August 11 which was a little more than 2 weeks after my release date for the parole violation.
On the day of my very first court date, Mr Hayes showed up over an hour late. When he did finally arrive he spoke to the district attorney or their assistant (which ever it was) and after speaking to them, he brought me outside the courtroom to discuss the plea being offered. But before I would even think about accepting any plea I asked Mr Hayes for a police report because I wanted to know what probable cause the officers had to initiate their investigation to begin with and to see what little evidence they claimed to have. To which Mr Hayes said he wasn’t even sure there was a police report yet and he walked back into the courtroom to inquire about it. A few moments later he walks out with the police report and he goes over it for the very first time with me. So this means he is asking me to accept a guilty plea for a crime that he hadn’t even seen a police report on, and that he wasn’t even aware of the basic circumstances involved with the alleged offenses.
So in weighing my decision to accept the plea, my main incentive was I believed it would save me $5,000 in additional attorney fees just by going ahead and accepting the offer of time served for a guilty plea on possession of paraphernalia, that had no further consequences than had the case been dismissed completely or had I been found not guilty at trial.
The main deciding factor of not taking the case to trial was my belief that it would have ended up costing me thousands of dollars .
After I left the courthouse, I was speaking to my father about my reason for accepting the plea, thinking I was saving thousands of dollars avoiding a trial. That is when my father informed me that he had paid Mr Ray Hayes an additional $7,500 after I had signed the fee agreement contract stating the fee for a trial would not be required because it would be settled with a plea or dismissal. After learning about this fact I immediately contacted Mr Hayes by phone and stated my displeasure and requested a partial refund for the fees that weren’t warranted and that I specifically didn’t agree to to which his only response was “I think you got a great deal”.
I feel his actions are morally and ethically wrong given the circumstances.

If you are dealing with legal issues I would definitely recommend Mr Ray Hayes. I found myself in a very difficult situation that not many attorneys wanted to deal with or didnt sound confident in taking on. He took the time to understand the mess I got myself into and he navigated me through it to where I ended up with the best possible outcome. He's honest and very knowledgeable in what he does, and that gave me peace knowing that I was in good hands.

When you have hired an attorney or been appointed one you are prepared to put your life in their hands. In a way, this is similar to how one would with a surgeon in a traumatic emergency. I cannot think of anyone who is better to put your trust into other than Ray Hayes. With him, you can expect the best possible outcome for your case. I was facing serious time and today I am free to think about my future and get my life together. With Ray Hayes as your attorney, you can say, “surely goodness and mercy shall follow me all the days of my life.”

Ray Hayes did an amazing job representing me in several different cases. He worked well with the district attorney's office in ensuring I was able to get the best deal possible as opposed to trying to go to trial and beat 4 separate charges which would have been extremely difficult in convincing a jury I was innocent of all charges. He was able to go to trial and win in another case for me as well as allowing me to walk out of court on a different occasion when I was facing 3 separate probation charges. Needless to say, if I had hired a different attorney I might not have the freedom to write this review. I would recommend Ray Hayes to anyone who wants an attorney that not only cares about his clients, but has the knowledge and connections to put his clients in the best possible situation possible. I truly believe there is no other attorney that could have put me in a better situation than I currently am. If your looking for an attorney that will do every an anything they can to put you in a better position, I would stop looking at other attorney's and hire Ray Hayes. I hope I never have to hire another attorney again but if something was to come up, I know my only call would be made to Ray Hayes!! An all around job well done. He is a fantastic attorney, and an even better human being. Thanks for everything Ray !!
