Brian is super knowledgeable and honest! I went to a bad attorney before seeing him and I so appreciate his honesty and willingness to step in and take care of the poor job my previous attorney did. I highly recommend him if you are in need of a family law attorney!

I highly recommend the legal counsel of Brittany Morrison if you are struggling with a divorce involving domestic violence (DV). The intense, longterm trauma caused by DV can be exacerbated by the many details of legal negotiations. Simply discussing the circumstances and legal options can be re-traumatizing. Brittany listened carefully to my concerns and answered my questions very respectfully. She offered solid options for a way forward. I feel relieved and calm after speaking with her.

I would not recommend. These are the most unprofessional lawyers and staff I've ever experienced. Mr. O'Malley was usually late to the meeting by 10-15 minutes. On our court date, he did not subpoena certain records till day of. After my case was resolved, it was never brought to my attention that I had a a remaining balance in my trust of roughly 500. We put up 4k initially. When he charged my ex the full amount in attorney fees, which was 4K. My ex brought me back to court and from there, I was waived money for "this matter to be resolved." Daniel O'Malley did not care about my situation or take it serious. And somehow I still did not receive a final copy of my agreement even though I asked for one multiple times with an updated address. Don't waste your money, or time.

Brian is hands down the best lawyer I have worked with. I have interviewed lawyers and researched my case extensively. He was the only one to give me real advice even when it was to wait to file actions in my case because this is in my best interest. Waiting would also save me thousands of dollars in the long run. I have yet had a lawyer be so truthful.

I was initially hesitant to use The Law Corner since I live in Durham but Brian came highly recommended by friends. I’m so glad I contacted them. I had a consult with Matt Jackson the same day and I was impressed with his straightforward approach and options presented to me. My easy separation agreement got more complicated but he was there and handled everything flawlessly! He even went to court during the shut down to make sure everything got settled. During a very difficult time it was nice to know I really did have someone in my corner making sure my best interests were being served. I would highly recommend them to anyone in Durham.

My attorney was Matt Jackson. I started my custody case with Mr. Jackson when he was with another Firm. When he left that Firm I had a choice to pick another attorney I stayed with Matt Jackson. That was the best decision I could have made. Mr Jackson fought for my rights as a parent to the end. He gave me all the information and advice to put me in a good position with the courts. If you are a Veteran with Disabilities Matt Jackson knows how to navigate the system to put you in best position to get your parental rights back. Matt Jackson was my attorney but I will always respect him and treat him like family cause he saved mine. EDR SEMPRE FIDELIS

Matt Jackson of The Law Corner in Raleigh NC. Is a prime example of why attorneys have replaced used car salesmen as the least trusted profession today. I retained Mr. Jackson to represent me in a separation/divorce case. I went into this ill informed of what my options were or what was going to happen. It was one surprise after another. The opposing attorney filed a motion to overturn a ruling in my favor won by my previous attorney. Mr. Jackson never asked to meet to discuss how we were going to defend the motion. He showed up unprepared. Stumbled through with some ridiculous argument, making us the laughing stock of the court room. I was so embarrassed. A FIDUCLARY RELATIONSHIP never existed between Mr. Jackson and I. It became clear to me that Mr. Jackson’s goal was to get me to accept an agreement as soon as possible and to retain ALL of the retainer I have paid up front and move on. Mr. Jackson sent me an accounting statement with an hourly rate higher than the one agreed upon in the retainer contract. I requested a corrected statement with the correct hourly rate, it never came. Later, I was sent a second accounting of time with an hourly rate higher than what was agreed. Eventually instead of a final accounting of my retainer fee, I was just told that “I was out of money.” I informed Mr. Jackson how my previous attorney showed up to mediation with nothing but a legal pad and we used a spreadsheet prepared by the opposing attorney, based solely on their figures. We did not reach an agreement that day. Mr. Jackson assured me that would not be the case with him. However, during the time leading up to our second mediation date, the opposing attorney requested all sorts of discovery from me. Bank accounts, bank records, retirement accounts, credit cards records, before the time of separation. After the time of separation, so on and so on. We, on the other hand, asked for nothing. Mr. Jackson assured me we did not need the records they were requesting. We had everything we needed. I instructed Mr. Jackson to please request certain records to counter figures I knew to be false from the previous mediation. He never did. In fact, he failed to relay some of the discovery requests to the opposing attorney, causing a motion to be filed against me for not complying with opposing attorney’s request for discovery. Communication was at a minimum. I learned of important dates such as court and mediation by happenstance or from the opposing attorney. I asked to meet before our second mediation to discuss our plan. It never occurred. The date of my second mediation, I asked to see the spreadsheet he promised to prepare, and he whipped out the old spreadsheet from the first mediation. All with unverified numbers from the other side, and with all the discovery information I provided to the opposing attorney in my column. The weight of evidence was heavy against me. We had no way to vet the figures in her column. I was at a big disadvantage and settled for far less than what I was entitled to.
