There’s no better traffic attorney in the RDU area than Doug. He’s the person to turn to if you want things done seriously and taken care of well. Douglas Portnoy was recommended to me by not one, but two other guys in my circle of friends.. so consider this a 3/3 reference. Everything was coordinated via Email, which I prefer. Mr. Portnoy was professional and got straight to the point of what he needed from me, without making any lofty promises. Just follow his instructions and you'll have all the leverage you need in traffic court. Bottom line: He did what he does and he done did it right.

Doug represented my daughter on several cases that she accumulated at a rough time in her life. He was able to get FTA warrants recalled and the case dismissed. Saving us the money and time of her turning herself in and paying for another bond. He got a couple of the other cases dismissed. On the toughest case he was able to get two charges dismissed and the final charged reduced to improper equipment which was what I considered the best outcome besides a dismissal. His rates are very reasonable. I would highly recommend him if you are looking for a great traffic lawyer!!!

Douglas was amazing. He offered me proper direction in terms of how to go about handling my ticket. He provided a reputable online driving course, to aid in my case. My court date came & he was able to go in my place, reducing my ticket down to nothing. His fee's were reasonable & his communication with me was great. I got pulled over going 22mph over and subsequently received a ticket with a court appearance. I called Doug, explained my situation, and he reassured me he could my ticket reduced to an improper equipment charge (best case scenario other than dismissal). Leading up to my court date, Doug kept me updated and continued to reassure me about a positive outcome for my traffic ticket. Fast forward to my court date, and true to his word, Doug was able to get my ticket reduced to an improper equipment charge. Doug is a true professional and will get the job done. I got a speeding ticket back in September. The last time I got one was back in high school (2009). I spoke with Doug, and he reassured me he could get it dropped to "equipment failure."
