I was required to use this law office through a relocation agreement. I would not recommend this office, if you have the choice. There were multiple instances where information provided was incomplete and required quite a bit of back and forth. With a tight timeline for purchase as an out of state buyer, this back and forth resulted in wasted time and additional stressors.

I recently had a 2 star experience with Becker Law Offices and wanted to share. As the sole other seller review (at the time of this posting) mentioned, there are several mandatory fees assessed to a seller when the buyer elects to use Becker Law Offices. While the issues with North Carolina Real Estate proceedings are vast, it is not fair to hold Becker accountable in a review for the fact that everyone seems to have a hand in your pocket when selling in North Carolina.
Had I realized the extent of the fees assessed by Becker Law, I would have required a bit higher selling price for my property to offset. Keep in mind, the parts that were compulsory were only a few hundred dollars, but it is the principle, and the issue that as a seller, you have zero say in these compulsory fees.
When receiving the disclosure documents to complete, there was ample language regarding any monies that would have been owed from the seller at closing being required to be wired, however the only options we were provided on the forms for receiving our disbursement was a magic "trust" check that was as good as cash, and the opportunity to pay for it to be overnighted if we were unable to accommodate pickup at their convenience. Alternatively, our realtor could have picked up the check, however it seems a bit of a double standard that monies are required to be wired TO them, and then the disbursements are delayed at minimum by the overnight courier option. It's 2023, they require wiring them money, and offer a paper check that you get to pay for overnighting.
Additionally, another compulsory fee was $35 per loan that was closed (a.k.a. sending the check to the bank that held the mortgage) and, you guessed it, this does not cover the ADDITIONAL $30 overnight fee. All in all, we were able to get away from the transaction only out a few hundred dollars, but will keep this in mind should we ever be selling property in a situation where the buyer's offer would come with a Becker Law Office requirement. Fortunately the check has cleared, so as long as we pay attention in future transactions, we should not have to deal with Becker Law again.
