This firm handled a difficult case for me last year. They were kind and courteous but more importantly, competent and professional. I have recommended them many times and will continue to do so.

I recently engaged this attorney's office for legal assistance in a negligence case that required potential litigation. Initially, they appeared competent and agreed to take on our case, and we completed all necessary paperwork. However, our experience quickly soured. After advising us to set up an estate, which we did at considerable expense, communication from their end became sporadic at best. Despite our persistent efforts to stay updated, we were met with vague responses or no response at all. A full year passed with little progress and minimal communication. When they eventually reached out, it was to inform us that they couldn't proceed due to a legal complication they seemingly overlooked initially. This left us frustrated and financially strained, particularly as we are both single mothers. To exacerbate matters, we've now received correspondence from the courts regarding the estate, and despite repeated attempts to contact the attorney's office via email and phone, we've been met with silence. This lack of professionalism is deeply concerning. I intend to report this matter to the Better Business Bureau to shed light on the lack of communication and disappointing legal representation provided by this attorney's office.

I have been fortunate to only need a lawyer a couple times in my life. The experience I had with this firm was awful. I had a lot of problems after a foot surgery and another physician encouraged me to speak with an attorney. I spoke with Jim Barnes and he explained how they take cases on a contingency basis, all of this made sense and his paralegal emailed me paper work to use their services. I read through the paperwork and signed and sent it back. I initiated their services in May but did not hear from them until the end of November regarding my case. In December I was told that they would not be able to help me which is fine, unfortunately sometimes surgeries have bad outcomes. In January I received a bill for $2,100 that I was not expecting at all. The fine print after the signature page on their agreement says the client is responsible for fees for the expert witness. The potential to rack up hefty legal fees should have been disclosed when Jim Barnes discussed how the firm works on a contingency basis. I also had to pay extra fees to extend timelines due to the considerable amount of time before they chose to look into my case. Now I have incurred more fees following hefty medical bills in an already unfortunate situation. This firm is not transparent and not even mentioning hefty fees when explaining your contingency plan for cases is predatory.
