Unfortunately I've been conditioned to not expect a lot from attorneys in terms of responsiveness, communication and fair fees. James Seay has changed that and set a new standard with his flawless execution of my legal needs! He unraveled and fixed an unnecessarily complex trust structure and wasted no time getting probate underway for my husband's estate. He also expedited everything possible to meet a real estate closing and made himself available to consult with other attorneys involved. My wife and I have recently sold a successful business we spent 16 years building. When the time came to find an attorney, arguably the most important piece of the transaction puzzle, I did what most people don't do. Took it to the internet, instead of seeking recommendations. The reason for my choice being internet based was that I did not want to fall trap to biased or partial referrals, and wanted to do my own investigation, especially on such an important partnership. After reading a few webpages and speaking with a few attorneys over the phone, I decided to go with James Seay. My reasons were plenty, and my decision turned to be more than right - they don't always turn out that way btw:) First of all, I was drawn to the practice due to their military background. Any negotiation falls within the realm of warfare. While that may seem radical, it is true, and applied to my transaction. Although all parties were amicable, there were still times where there would be diverging interests and expectations. James was able to navigate those situations with aplomb. He not only understood our needs, but presented contingencies and strategies that served us very well later in the process. James was always one step ahead of our requests. He was extremely available, was always pleasant, professional and friendly at the same time. When differences of opinion appeared between my wife and I during the sale process, James took upon the role of mediator and helped calm the storm within with class, perspective and knowledge. We sold this business without a broker. I had been told that if I didn't have a broker, I'd better have an excellent attorney, and that, I did have. I want to formally thank James, and indirectly his father, Jim, for running such a competent, excellent law firm. They made this complex transaction smooth and were instrumental in its success. They advertise ‘estate probate’. Asked me several questions. Advised “at this point can’t help you”, call attorney that drafted your mom’s will’. It’s very hard to have a parent pass, adding on the loss of a sibling communicating, the estate probate closed. When does this office assist ??? My brief experience is that what they advertise as a service is not what they do or they have plenty of work and helping to right a wrong is not on the list of ‘to do’. It would have been professional to at least say why he couldn’t do anything.

Called to get some work done for a small Veteran owned business. Couldn’t bother to call back personally had a secretary do it, just to tell me to call a different lawyer. Never asked the details or got consult. Should prob take the part in the profile off about being an Army Vet if you don’t have time to even talk to a brother in arms.
