Wow !!!! Wow !!!! Wow !!!! Just got custody of my Granddaughter back in dramatic fashion!!! Been crying tears of joy all night !!! Cape Fear Family Law was the best decision we made in this long drawn out process. Could not have hoped or asked for a better outcome !!!! Every person on their staff was very professional courteous and thorough!!! But our lawyer was the very best part . Brittany you are sooo awesome !!! She's about 5 foot tall and hundred pounds soaking wet , but in the courtroom shes 6 foot 7 and 350 !!!! Wow !!! Wow !!! Wow !!! You are a special person that we will always be thankful for. Working with Cape Fear Family Law has been an extremely pleasureable experience through an otherwise difficult time. The first time I met with Waneta, I was immediately at ease with the upcoming situation I was facing. She listens intently and offers honest advice with her client's wishes in mind. Wantea was extremely patient with me when some things took longer than expected, and for that I'll be forever grateful. She was good with meeting remotely which is huge for a single working mom. I live out of state. I had a previous relationship interest in NC which unfortunately did not work out. Radio silence from the opposing party was immediately broken when I was contacted this past December by the state of North Carolina, saying that I was bound henceforth of a monthly bill to the tune of $4800 in child support payments–not a small monthly sum. Now, I’ve never previously been in this type of predicament, but my musings with the hit TV series Better Call Saul and Suits gave me the notion that typically there was some sort of court appearance and/or judge to make these types of decisions—neither of which I’ve had the pleasure of enjoying. Something was amiss. With great haste, I contacted Cape Fear and was introduced to Matt Geiger. I spoke periodically with Matt over the next couple months about the case, what had happened, and what the next steps were. He warned me that although i may not have known about the previous court date, in the state of NC, evidence that they simply sent notice is all that’s needed to uphold the previous hearings judgement (mildly assbackwards, but I digress. He successfully navigated the litigious landscape and was able to secure another court date, where I met Matt for the first time face to face. I was met by a younger gentleman who assured me with great confidence that all would be well, and while mildly apprehensive about the court proceedings in the coming hour. I was fearful while listening to the opposing counsel who had overwhelming evidence that a notice to appear was indeed sent, but all fear was immediately extinguished when Matt was able to go back through all the records and find that although the notice was sent, it was sent a day later than was required by the state in the case of an out of state resident: me. Due to this one simple fact, the entire court ruling was thrown out and we have since come to a fair and equitable child support payment. I shout his praises and would strongly recommend him to anyone that asked.
