I was absolutely astonished by the rudeness and lack of empathy from someone who is supposed to be a professional and beyond my side if they represent me. That lawyer At first said flat out, I’m not gonna take your case. Then he changed his mind and said wanted to charge me $2000 extra dollars for the retainer plus extra money hourly there just because I was going through a domestic violence relationship and just because he felt like it was going to be a complicated case. Not only that but he said “what kind of mother are you?” (To have been stuck in an abusive relationship), “have you gotten a mental evaluation lately?” “The more I learn about you the more I understand why other lawyers won’t take your case” he also asked Intimate details of my trauma which was totally irrelevant to the context. You do not ask somebody what happened to cause PTSD!!! I felt like I was totally in the twilight zone. Do not fall for his shock and awe attempts at manipulation to get you to pay more money to him for him to mistreat you and not even be on your side if he’s gonna be your lawyer!

Fantastic experience with Doug!

If I could give Dough a 10/5 star rating I would! I called his office panicking due to my divorce going south very quickly. Dough took me on as a client as soon as I called him! He made the whole process super smooth and easy (well as smooth as a divorce can go lol.) My ex wanted to try and pull some slick moves but Dough stopped it very quickly. Always got back with me in a timely manner. Dough and Wendy have been nothing but super nice and caring through my whole divorce along with selling my house! I highly recommend his office!

Looking for a family law attorney? You came to the right place. Doug Houston is very compassionate and listens to your concerns. He takes what you say to heart and comes up with a game plan. He is completely honest and upfront with any information pertaining to your case. He doesn't fill your head with "Oh ya we can win this" attitude. If you have a good chance, he will honestly tell you. Some attorneys are out there just for the money, that isn't Doug. Doug and his assistant Kathy keep you up to date on all your proceedings as well. Doug explained all possible outcomes for my case. Even though it didn't go as we were hoping, Doug did a fantastic job representing me. I honestly could not have picked a better attorney.
