I encountered Mr.Fallang in 2014, he was working my case in the Public Defender's office. I was charged with 0VI and couldn't afford an attorned and Dennis was assigned my case. OVI is a serious charge no matter how who you are or what your age or economic status at the time of arrest. He did strike me as experienced and I would have rated him as average for knowledgable, if we were talking about knowledge of the law. He knows OVI law and he knew the court members involved. What he didn't know was the first thing about me or my case. Nor did he seem motivated to learn. It was clear in our first meeting that he had merely glanced my case, and had poor recall of the facts involved. He couldn't remember my name nor my face after trying meet with him several times to obtain documents from him necessary for my defense. His communication was candid and clear in our verbal conversations but his lack of interest in my case was evident from the get go, and never more so was it evident from his motion to suppress written arguments which the lawyer whom I replaced him with described to me as a "total joke" It was, I'm a layman with no JD, and even I had to laugh upon reading the motion that couldn't have taken him more that 10 minutes to copy, paste and print from his presumably overwhelming case load. I know it's a tough job and likely a thankless one. But never the less it's an important one, and a defendant is entitled to competent legal ally by our constitution. Oh well, my case ultimately dismissed with my new counsel, thanks for the two paragraphs and all the laughs. If you're reading this let me sum up my argument.
