My Deceased husband has been a client for 15+ years at Kelley Ferraro. Over the years I have dealt with many professional employees from attorneys to secretaries to probate, etc. I have two employees that have stood out over the years one being Bidea Kelly. I met Bidea through a business that I had had and she had turned me on to Kelley Ferraro. At that time she worked in probate and always was very personal. Bidea would give you as much information as she could or turn you on to another employee that would be able to answer your questions. The other employee is Valerie, the settlement coordinator. sometimes in a large law firm It's almost the luck of the draw what employee you get to speak to and for the last eight months I have been blessed to get Valerie. When speaking with her whether it's a question or she calls to give me information it's almost like she takes it personal as if she understands what I'm going through. I have gotten more information from Valerie in eight months then I have in the 15 years that I've been dealing With this law firm. There is much protocol / paperwork dealing with a lawsuit, as well as different departments. I always felt in the last 14 years that my case had been Unintentionally lost in the shuffle. NOT with Valerie, she knows exactly what chain the protocol has to take before a settlement and never hesitates to explain why a settlement would take as long as it does! Valerie has worked very hard on my case and I'm sure she does this for other clients as well. Of all the employees I have come in contact with I feel confident in saying Valerie enjoys her job and takes pride in being the best she can be for Kelley Ferraro !! She's a keeper!!! Thank you , Linda Messina

The attorney that handled my wife mesothelioma case didn't want to do anything. I had to do all of the research. She stated that she didn't know where to get the legal records from. I gave her phone numbers fir witnesses and she never wrote the correct numbers down and nor did she contact anyone. They only want easy money, they don't care about thier clients. They only want an easy payday.

They said my dad's wrongful death settlement for dieing from Mesothelioma was $4,750. It was a million dollars. They embezzled $995,250. of my dad's settlement. I tried to commit suicide because of what they did to my dad, to me and to my daughter.

Alex and his firm came highly recommended to my fiancé and I. Despite the glowing recommendations, in addition to Alex, we met with other immigration attorneys, before making official what we knew after meeting Alex — that he was our guy. As a practicing attorney, I had a very good idea as to how the relationship should proceed. Alex exceeded our expectations. Not only was his work-product excellent, he was communicative and accesible to answer our questions. Because of our time-zone difference (15 hours) Alex schedule telephonic and zoom calls at odd hours to accommodate us. Whenever documents were delivered to his office, he’d call us to explain the communication, sometimes before we even opened it. When it came time for our interview, Alex put us at ease with his calm demeanor as he laid out for us, step-by-step, what we should expect. It also helped that immigration officers knew Alex by name and had an expectation that his files would already be in order. At a time when hugs weren’t freely given or accepted, my wife and I - eternally grateful for his efforts - gave Alex a hug for helping our family in very uncertain times.

Attorney Cuic was my immigration lawyer for a span of over 5 years. In this time he was always very welcoming, honest, thorough, diligent and direct.... He always reviewed all my options with me and always continued to advocate for me even when my status became more complicated. I was very lucky to have him by my side through this whole process, and couldn't have asked for anyone better.

I attended a church function in Parma Ohio when I saw an advertisement for brown immigration wrote the number down and several months later I contacted the firm an appointment was made and met with attorney Aleksandar Cuic regarding my naturalization process I had some concerns regarding my eligibility to become a U.S citizen after a brief meeting at their office at the downtown Cleveland location attorney Cuic assured me that I would have no issue being naturalized after a delay due to the pandemic and further review from the immigration officials I became concerned to say the least . I contacted attorney Cuic and he and his case manager once again assured me that this was a normal process they worked diligently throughout this entire process at all times putting me at ease .. I since have been naturalized and couldn’t be more satisfied with the team at Brown Immigration I would recommend this firm to anyone needing assistance regarding Immigration concerns and I am grateful to Attorney Cuic and his entire staff ..Steve G Parma Ohio ...

Andrew and his team are first class attorney's. I have hired them to represent me, and I couldn't be more pleased with the counsel they have provided. They have been thorough, empathetic, and have represented my best interests in what has been the most difficult time in my life. Andrew won't tell me what I want to hear. He gives me facts, his opinion, and options to consider. He likes to think "outside the box" to achieve the goals I have. He emphasizes that I am always in control of the strategy. He and his team make you feel as if you are the firm's only client. He works and fights exceptionally hard for his clients. If he can't help you, he'll tell you on the first meeting. He's that kind of person. I would hire him and his team again in a New York minute. You are in good hands with Andrew.

Andrew Zashin was highly recommended, and he is the best in the field. I found Andrew to be a no nonsense, straight to the point attorney. He listens intently to every word while he is focused and very clever, having the ability to make everyone feel comfortable. One consultation with Andrew I was at ease knowing, 100%, he knew the law and had the answers. His response time to emails and phone calls is without question lightning speed, while his knowledge of the law is impeccable. Mr. Andrew Zashin has a FIVE-STAR rating for a reason!

Since my collaborative process has been a disaster, I contacted Andrew as a litigation resource and potential attorney. Unlike his reputation as a “pit-bull” and getting results, Andrew could not have been kinder, compassionate and intelligent during his conversation with me. He has immense knowledge and experience and directed me in a very straightforward manner. I left the meeting with increased knowledge and empowerment.

Can a Lawyer Represent Me in Courts Outside of Cleveland, Ohio?

Whether a lawyer can represent you in courts outside of your city or state depends on their licensure and the jurisdiction of the court:

  • Within the Same State:
Lawyers licensed in a particular state can typically practice anywhere within that state, including all cities and counties. They can represent you in both state and federal courts located in that state.
  • Outside of Their Licensed State:
If your case is in a different state, the lawyer must be licensed in that state to represent you. However, there are exceptions:
    • Pro Hac Vice Admission: An out-of-state lawyer can request special permission to represent a client in a specific case in another state. This requires filing a motion with the court and often working in conjunction with a local attorney.
    • Federal Courts: If your case is in federal court, a lawyer licensed in any state may be able to represent you, provided they are admitted to practice in that particular federal court.
  • International Representation:
For cases outside the United States, different rules apply, and the lawyer may need to comply with the foreign country's legal requirements or collaborate with local counsel.

It's important to discuss your specific situation with the lawyer to determine if they can represent you in the desired jurisdiction and what steps may be necessary to do so.

How to Check the Credibility of a Lawyer

Before hiring a lawyer, it's crucial to verify their credibility and ensure they're qualified to handle your case:

  • Verify Their License:
Check with your state's bar association to confirm the lawyer is licensed and in good standing. Most state bar websites have an online directory for this purpose.
  • Experience and Specialization:
Ensure the lawyer specializes in the area of law relevant to your case. Review their website, professional profiles, and case history.
  • Disciplinary Record:
Look up any history of disciplinary actions or complaints through the state bar association's records.
  • Client Reviews and Testimonials:
Read reviews on legal directories like Avvo, Martindale-Hubbell, Google, or Yelp to gauge client satisfaction and experiences.
  • Professional Memberships:
Membership in professional organizations or specialty bar associations can indicate a commitment to their field and adherence to high ethical standards.
  • Awards and Recognitions:
Honors from reputable organizations reflect expertise and a positive reputation in the legal community.
  • Consultation Assessment:
Use the initial consultation to evaluate their communication skills, responsiveness, and willingness to address your concerns.
  • Ask for References:
A credible lawyer should be willing to provide references from past clients who can speak to their abilities and professionalism.

What Should I Prepare for My First Consultation?

To make the most of your initial meeting with a lawyer, come prepared with:

  • Relevant Documents:
Bring all documents related to your case, such as:
    • Contracts or agreements
    • Correspondence (emails, letters, texts)
    • Legal notices or court papers
    • Financial records (if applicable)
    • Evidence (photos, videos, receipts)
  • Written Summary:
Prepare a concise written summary of your situation, including key dates, events, and parties involved. This helps the lawyer quickly understand the context.
  • List of Questions:
Write down any questions you have about your case, the legal process, fees, or the lawyer's experience.
  • Financial Information:
If your case involves financial matters, bring relevant documents like pay stubs, tax returns, bank statements, or invoices.
  • Contact Information:
Provide details of any witnesses or other parties relevant to your case, including their names and contact information.
  • Personal Identification:
Bring a valid photo ID for verification purposes.
  • Pen and Notebook:
Take notes during the consultation to remember important points discussed.
  • Budget Constraints:
Be ready to discuss your budget and any financial limitations so the lawyer can provide appropriate guidance on fees and payment options.
  • Openness and Honesty:
Be prepared to discuss your case candidly. Full disclosure allows the lawyer to give accurate advice and anticipate potential challenges.
