Wes Freeman became my criminal defense attorney in a unique case that was complicated, due to involvement of the Ohio investigative unit due to an issue related to a social norm that has existed in Ohio for ages but has technically been in violation due to an outdated law. The charges were significant. The path to resolution was not known in case law or clear to many outside attorneys who commented and advised me along the way. While navigating multiple channels of advocacy in the city and state level, Wes was in weekly correspondence and advisory with me regarding interpretation of the law and the best practices in case of an eminent jury trial. He was also active in meetings with the opposing prosecutor, direct with me about potential legal or cultural missteps during my advocacy, and was empathetic to my stress along the way. Looking back, Wes didn't enable me or become codependent during moments of difficulty. While he was on my side, his point of view was balanced to the facts and evidence that surrounded the issue. This helped me not to overindulge in my own viewpoints or veer off a path of logic while directing the steps towards resolution. In servant leader style, Wes advised which levels of advocacy would be valuable to the case and the issue at hand, applied continuances when I requested them, was engaged with me when appropriate, and got out of the way when I was head strong in political or social advocacy. The end result? A greatly reduced plea deal that I accepted. The plea bargain put me in the position to continue to advocate for legal reform and clarity around the issue. The plea deal also accomplished what I needed to accomplish: Removing opportunity for case law that could harm others in the positive community and culture connected to this issue, not majorly disrupting immediate friendships, not harming the reputation of businesses who were supportive of the community norms surrounding this issue, no jail time, 90% reduced fine from the initial charges, and not spending 3 days on a jury trial that would otherwise risk the outcomes or disrupt my current client work and opportunities. I'd recommend Wes for his balanced, consistent, and emotionally resilient approach to a stressful process of criminal charges. While he is often reviewed for DUI cases, I'd also recommend him to advise and facilitate more unique and complicated criminal proceedings.

I had received a reckless driving charge while visiting from another state. Laura was prompt in taking my case and helping me through the steps with this being my first time being charged with anything.she was able to get my charges dropped from 106 in a 60mph zone to 74 in a 60mph zone. I have unfortunately had to hire Chelsea Lund twice, but she has made both experiences more than comfortable. Being able to reach her after hours and by text made a huge difference!
