After I was suspended from my college for what I believed to be inappropriate reasons, Mark and Jessica helped me successfully navigate the process of reentry to school. They assisted me in crafting a superb appeal letter to my suspension, communicated with the school's legal counsel when necessary, and advised me on my communications. Throughout the process they maintained a thoughtful balance of advocating for my needs and maintaining an amicable relationship with the school. I am now back in school and able to complete courses that I missed during my suspension - a feat that I don't think I would have been capable of achieving without their expert assistance.

Mark was recommended to me by another lawyer after I was unsuccessful to find a representation for our kindergarten son for over 6 weeks. I was unable to get beyond the receptionist of every law firm that I called. After I spoke to Mark on Sunday, he took half a day to review the initial documents and agree to take the case. In this case our kindergarten son (going to public school in a small town) was issues out of school suspension for 3 days with the accusations of: harassment, assault, insubordination and not following the school rules, when during physical activity class he “grabbed teacher aid’s breast”. We did not have a good understanding to what exactly happen. Immediately after the incident, the principle explained to our son (kindergarten age) the accusations of harassment and assault and made him sign the notice of suspension (in our absence). When my husband arrived at the school, the suspension notice was handed to him over the counter at the school entrance. We spoke to both the principle and the superintendent of the school, but we were unable to have our voices heard! We were looking to have our son records of “harassment” and “assault” removed. So here we were six weeks post the served suspension: a terrified child (our son was crying at night, thinking that he would go to jail), looking for an alternative school since the present school warned us with school explosion in any case that our son does anything non-disciplinary even as little as “stomping his foot” or “laughing on something that is not funny” (all things that he was disciplined in the past), no babysitter (my husband substituted), feeling powerless! In only few days after we first spoke to Mark, we had a date for a hearing. Mark confronted the school with the state law and school own bylaws. Among all the other faults surrounding the suspension (they were so many), the school did not do their due diligence of issuing a letter of suspension offering a hearing date (due within 24 hours from the notice of suspension). On the day of the hearing the suspension was removed from our son educational records! On that day Mark was in control in any minute aspect of the hearing, He dissected the case meticulously layer by layer exposing the facts. He also pointed that over 30 cases of children’s (age K-3) suspensions were issued by the school for the last 10 months, more than 200 for the last 5 years. I think Mark did more than helping our son, he made a precedent for the future of other children. He was very reasonable with pricing and that including him traveling 2 hours away. He offered to take our case “pro bono” if we were to go to court. I would have paid him regardless because I think he earns it extremely well. Mark Weiker handled our case so delicate, that I think only a lower with profundity, workmanship and creativity can do so effortlessly! I highly recommend him!

We hired Mark for a transportation issue with our Children’s homeschool district. Mark took time to listen to our needs, which was much appreciated. He gave us sound advise, and provided us with possible legal actions. Mark was able to obtain a settlement out of court on our behalf rather then dragging the matter out longer then necessary.
