Where do I start to describe how happy I am that I decided to use this firm for my immigration issues... Here comes the list: 1. ACTUAL FREE CONSULTATION. (not a person who claims to be a high professional lawyer and charge you at least $100/hr., just to tell you in the end that he has no idea what to do with your "very complicated" case, but he can try for $$$$!) 2. PROMT RESPONSE TO ANY INQUIRY. (I am sure these people have a very high caseload, but still manage to respond to me if not right away then always within 24 hours, sometimes even on weekends! So no endless holding on the phone, no promises from secretary to call back later, which usually never happens.) 3. PROFESSIONALISM. (Shares his plan of action on your case with you and explains possible outcomes and chances of each of it to happen!) 4. REASONABLE COMPENSATION. (To put it simple: in my opinion he would rather take 3 clients and charge them $, then one client and charge $$$ for the same thing.) 5. VERY FRIENDLY ATTITUDE. (When he talks you feel like you are talking to a person who is really willing to help, not someone who makes you feel that you know nothing and he is doing you a huge favor by taking you case!) 6. PROVIDE COPIES OF EVERYTHING THAT FILED AND RECEIVED ON YOUR CASE FOR YOUR OWN RECORDS. (May be it only happened to me, but before I had a hard time getting any papers out of my lawyer who claimed that my file belongs to him!) This is not a complete list, but the main things are there. Also I would like to address people out there who has doubts about hiring a lawyer out-of-state, I had the same issue before but not anymore. I live in Texas and believe it or not I couldn't find any competent lawyer for my case here, tried a lot of them, but they either did not know what to do or asked an unrealistic price. I found out about Sarmiento on Google when I was so stressed and desperate that I thought it wouldn't hurt me just to ask one more lawyer a question since it is free.I filed out a simple form and asked him a question about my situation, I couldn't believe it a t first when I got detailed response on the next day. That was the best decision I made and now my issue is resolved within a month and a half! Thank you Sarmiento Immigration Law Firm! Just letting you all know my case was to terminate removal proceedings not to just fill out a few forms:-) Everything is possible! Good luck to you all!

JP is very easy to work with and reliable. I called from Chicago because I saw he had done similar cases to mine, and I'm talking about really complicated appeals with the BIA. I decided to hire him even though I never met him. I asked if he could have the appeal ready for me in 10 days. He had a 300-pages appeal sorted out and ready in about 3 days. I asked how long until we should get an answered from the BIA? He said hopefully 1-2 months. About 2 months later I got my appeal approved and am waiting on the next steps. This is a guy that will always answer your calls/emails, he's very knowledgeable about the immigration law, he works hard for you and charges reasonably. I strongly recommend you give him a call, I'm very happy I did!

JP and his crews are really very helpful. They help me to be able to stay in this country and go all out to help me from being deported. With a reasonable pricing and kind heart, you can never go wrong by chosing him as your rep. He is better than any other attorney in OH.

Glen Yu, Esq. is a skilled and efficient lawyer that works for a respectable firm. He dealt with our case which a petition for the permanent residency of a foreign relative who came into the US via Visa Waiver Program (VWP) and was wed to myself, a US citizen (I-130 & I-485). From our initial consultation, Mr. Yu had all of our paperwork, including an application for a work permit (I-765), submitted within a month. My relative had her biometrics taken a month after the application submission, received her work permit a month thereafter, and finally completed her interview exactly 3 months after the initial submission. During the whole process, Mr. Yu was keen to keep us updated of the status and prepared for the following steps. He was always available for questions, and made sure that we were prepared for our interview beforehand. Mr. Yu is a model lawyer, who is straightforward, confident, and also a very warm individual. I highly recommend him to those in need of assistance in the immigration process.

The first call with Glen Sunghee Yu dissipated my months-long anxiety!! I was a F1 student and wanted to change VISA status to E1 dependent. Actually, I had to, since my F1 was expiring. However, in my disturbed mind, the process didn't seem ordinary and simple due to my special situation. In general, E1 holders who accompany family members enter the state together at the same time with guaranteed VISA and status for all members accompanying. But, I was in a different situation. Practically, I became E1 holder's family member in the state, while I was still holding F1 at that point. Oh, it sounds simple now, but back then my mind suffered planing to change my status alone. I debated whether I should go back to my country to get E1 dependent visa, which would cost me a lot, financially and even psychologically. Is there any other way to stay with my newly-wed hubby? Of course, I perused USCIS pages over and over again. It appeared I could apply status change to USCIS, but still lots of doubts in my mind since I was in (maybe self-inflicted) special case. What if they decide my case is a woman who fakes marriage in order to stay illegally? If so, I would never be able to put my foot on this soil again, of course after my deportation! My anxiety and stress level had got into that point, still being unable to find a decisive answer. As I mentioned at the first place, Sarmiento Immigration Law firm, relived me as soon as I made a call. I explained my situation (not failing to express my over-concerned mind) to Glen, who assessed my case with no time and convinced me there should be no problem in my case. He also detailed what documentations I needed to prepare, which filled blanks that USCIS web-site information left in my mind. After that the first call, the whole process went so easy that I never concerned over my result which came successfully far earlier than we expected. I've got the result just in one and half month. Now, looking back, I specially value Glen's very prompt communications with me, even making clients feel personally cared for. When I told him I wanted to file the form as soon as possible, like tomorrow, he even explained his working trip schedule to other state in detail and he could work on my case soon after the trip. Just for a second, I got dismayed over letting a few days go away with no action. However, his kind explanation of the schedule made me believe his commitment to take care of his clients. It may be small thing, many people may not appreciate that information sharing, deciding unrelated to their own cases. But to me, that small things helped build trust up, eventually bringing peaceful mind in waiting. Even though I don't have many experiences and relationships with law firms, I believe Sarmiento Immigration Law firm provides the most responsive and prompt law services, of course with not only excellent knowledge but cheerful kindness. I won't hesitate to call Glen again if i ever need another law service.

Very Understanding and friendly lawyer ever dealt with. Actually it was for my wife's case. She came in the US with J1 in 2006 and return back home after completing her program and again got back in the US within a year with Q1visa. She didn't get any J1 waiver thinking her Q1 will supersede. I was a Green card holder only that time and We got I-130 approved but did not know that her 2 years rule has to be full filled because my prior lawyer overlooked and did not see it until someone from her office point it out. So we fired her and came to Mr. JP Sarmiento's office because we saw lot of positive reviews and feedback in the internet which gave us hope to get the waiver. And as expected he filed it pretty quick, every thing went smoothly and in two months we got our waiver approved. That's pretty quick than expected. Now we are filing for her green card. Thank you Mr.Sarmiento!!!

I recently got my F-1 Visa approved! My family and I were so happy to get it. We were expecting it to come later this year but glad that we got it earlier. This law firm had been very helpful and I am so grateful that I asked them for help. I am definitely recommending this to everyone!

Where to start? After years of struggling alone through the process, JP and his efficient team helped me get my citizenship in a far quicker timeframe than I had thought possible because he anticipated all the questions and helped me to have them clarified long before I got to the interview. He never made me feel pushed around and was always accessible. He was very thorough, careful and astute. Thankfully I don't have to go through this process again but if I did need to I certainly would go straight to him and his team!

JP was very professional and efficient. He answered all our questions right away, identified possible setbacks, and handled my children's cases without delay. We got the green card approvals within the timeframe that he had mentioned. I definitely recommend JP.
