I am an NAACP appointed secretary to the 3170 local chapter of Lima. I was first introduced to Carroll a the public defenders office in Lima. He was wrapping up the conversation with our mutual client. Once I was able to safely secure the client to ta safe location, I asked him "what are the next steps"? he informed me of what he remembers. Be he didn't know exact dates, times, locations, who to report to, or what exactly he signed. I immediately called the public defenders office with the client on speaker phone. The receptionist that we spoke too said "you didn't sign anything". So I sent an email to Caroll Creighton, whom was the attorney that my client had just received a card for, and I took a picture of for evidence. I said to the attorney specifically in the email. "You have two options, 1) email me a copy of your authorization of release form so that I could print it off and have the client sign it. 2) mail a copy of everything the client had signed to him. The next thing I know, I cc'd his supervisor, as well as executive members of NAACP. "I am sure you can appreciate the confidentiality we have with our clients. I am going to err on the side of caution, and not reveal anything communicated between my client and I, or even if we have communicated. And lastly, stating the included saying to add salt to the wound. "Thank you for your concern for Mr. --------. I am happy to know our local NAACP is concerned about him.
