Used Erie Title/Howard Hanna. Never again! They said they would overnight my money. Thousands of dollars. Still haven’t received my money. Very bad experience!

If by chance you’ve seen all the other reviews and are still on the fence, please be assured that this place is exceptionally bad and go elsewhere. We didn’t close on time and didn’t get the keys on time, and overall had a bad experience with them. We were told by the Howard Hanna Seller’s Realtor that we “had” to use them as the title company, and wish we had pushed back harder.

Horrible experience with them! We sold our house in October they never refunded the water hold in full still. I have been dealing with them for 8 months. We used Signature Title on a house we sold last May & everything went perfectly! I will never use Barristers again. I would suggest going with another title agency!

Terrible experience! I didn't choose them but the buyer was using Howard Hannah (also a bad company!). Emailed my info to the escrow officer, who never looked for the email. Then went I sent the same info a month later, they never confirmed getting it so I had to email again. Poor communication. Showed up for signing and they had the numbers wrong because they were not using the correct contract. Our name was misspelled. Patrick was pressuring us to sign an inaccurate contract that turned into an argument because of how disrespectful and unprofessional he was that resulted in us getting the manager of Howard Hannah to intervene. Wasted 2 hours and didn't even sign. Then when they brought someone else out to our house to sign for a second time, they gave her the wrong address. Consistent incompetence! How is this business still open? Stay away!

Inept organization that is shockingly (/s) peddled by the real estate agency that owns them. Non-existent communication, no disclosure of fees until you are signing the final documentation, and no apparent urgency in distributing funds to the seller in a transaction (however the Howard Hanna agents get their cuts post-haste). I was the seller, and although I was the one who had to pay for their "service" it was apparently the buyer who selected them. The whole arrangement seems a bit shady - but I guess that's true of most of the real estate game.

I would give zero stars if I could. We have lived in our new house for 6 months and they have STILL not paid the homeowners insurance. We had to pay that to get the mortgage. Where did the money go? You have to send things multiple times, as if things just disappear. If you have a choice, don't go with this title agency.

I'm seller buyer was represented by howard hannah along with barristers title company which is owned by howard hannah. That's a conflict of interest I already know. What can I say that hasn't already been said by the numerous scathing reviews pertaining to this title company. Seriously read the reviews they are awful. Both buyer and seller both agreed to 200.00 water hold in the original sales purchase agreement. I asked for the HUD form the day before signing interestingly enough it was not emailed to me. Notary shows up for me to sign and there's a 1000.00 water hold coming out of proceeds when we agreed to a water hold of 200.00. I refused to sign as signing would indicate agreement. You really have to watch this company they may have very well destroyed the deal. Don't do business with howard hannah but if you do for the love of Jesus Christ our savior choose another title company besides barristers in WRITING they'll try to push barrister on you push back hard. If you go with barristers you will regret it I know I dId.

Barrister's agent requested and we changed an appointment for her convenience. When we arrived at that new appointment (at their corporate location), she stated she had another appointment - sorry couldn't do ours - but got another title agent to do the signing. The original agent was not customer oriented but self oriented in language and attitude. The new agent was competent, which is the only reason I rate them a D rather than an F. The room we signed in was a basic store room with a folding table, holes in the wall, old marketing materials stacked in the corner. Was bade goodbye at the door of the store room - no escort and thanks at corporate lobby. The water department requires a closing escrow. It was 30 days from Barristers receipt acknowledgment of water department release until I received the balance in the mail. Shouldn't a $300 check be a week, maybe two? We received it but that strikes me as inordinately slow. Overall, Barristers of Ohio did their job. But we were not made to feel special, welcomed, or even appreciated. Certainly there are other title companies out there that do an ethical, competent job and also include customer satisfaction in their business model.
