Following my work injury I sought out representation to have therapeutic treatment paid for so I could return to a functioning pain free baseline. I met with Marilyn and made that clear as my goal, she initially began to say that covered treatment was possible and that the end goal would be to seek a form of disability. Through much back and forth my claim was allowed though she never put forth effort to have treatment paid for. I called her to discuss how I was not satisfied with the lack of treatment being cover and that I was still paying hundreds of dollars out of pocket. Her answer was “then maybe you should drop the claim”. I reminded her of what I was seeking in having representing; treatment paid for. (At this point I’ve spend thousands all therapeutic treatment given time has gone on, and will continue to.) Marilyn suggested I return to the original doctor whom denied the injury to express the current physically difficulties, I went to that appointment only to have a further negative result in the progress of having treatment covered. I’ve found that my goal and her goal were never the same. She seemed to be seeking to have disability approved so she could receive her portion, as I continue pay out of pocket for ongoing treatment. Most recently I’ve learned had Marilyn used better judgement, and recommended I see a workers comp provider sooner than just to get the disability percentage to close the case, my treatment would’ve had a much higher likelihood of being covered/ paid for. To me it’s quite clear my case nor representing me was not of value to Marilyn.
