When I came to Joe I was at my wits end. I was frustrated with the legal system and had come to believe that being honest and truthful was not the way to go. Joe listened to my story and also paid attention to what steps I had already taken. After listening to me he said the words I thought I would never hear. He said I believe I can help you. Joe was helpful, honest and patient right from the start. He did a great job representing me, and I would highly recommend Joe to any of my family and friends.

On the recommendation of my doctor I called Joe Di Bartolomeo early on in my workers comp claim and was given a very helpful phone consultation with information about how the process worked and suggestions to make it easiest. He told me there was really no need for his services at that point but I could call with any questions I had as it went on. After the claim was processed and closed, I went to see him for a review and he found a few errors on the insurer's part. He suggested we file an appeal and helped me do so. That resulted in a significant increase in the settlement payment. The fees for an attorney in an Oregon workers comp case are set by the state and were much less than I would have expected to pay considering the time he spent on the appeal and advice and help he gave prior to it. Joe's a good, honest lawyer, whom I retained to represent me when my car was rear-ended and I suffered some back injuries. While I was disappointed in the eventual property and personal injury settlements obtained from the insurance companies, I'm convinced Joe did as well on my behalf as any Attorney could have done. Unfortunately, life is not a 47-minute episode of "The Good Wife." The sad reality of auto collision-related claims—unless your injuries are extreme and disabling and your property losses are devastating—is that insurance companies hold all the cards. And they know it. ALL insurance companies have very deep pockets, but NONE will provide a generous settlement, unless they know you have a very strong case and that you WILL take them to trial if they don't. Keep in mind that if you do go to trial, you WILL incur legal expenses and court costs that you likely will have to pay if you lose. Also keep in mind that your trial date will likely be at some distant point in the future. So... if you are not willing to go to court, you're at the insurance company's mercy. And believe me, "mercy" is a quality that insurance companies never dispense.
