I did not understand FBAR requirements when I married my foreign born wife who actually does have retirement type accounts in her country. Years later, I discovered my error, read up on it and immediately retained Jonathan Mishkin. These aren't just IRS issues, they are FinCEN ones and the rules are incomprehensible to me. Jonathan is very professional and told us what data we needed to proceed. He assisted us in obtaining US documents and told us what we needed to get from the foreign sources. Once he had the information, he filled in and filed the missing FBAR documents. The entire office was attentive to our needs and communication was excellent. My wife also owns a small rental property. Jonathan researched that for compliance and told us what we need to do. It will be good to be not living in ignorance of tax laws and be in full compliance. To that we are very grateful to Jonathan Mishkin for getting us to that point.
