I would like to take this opportunity to recommend Melissa Haggerty, Attorney to represent Social Security Disability cases. She agreed to take my Disability Case and worked it through the long and arduous process to a successful conclusion and award. There were plenty of trying moments during the long process where I did not know what to expect, how to interpret or handle the paperwork and notices from the government – but at every step, Melissa and her team were there to explain it and to help keep me positive and on track. The professionalism and experience that she and the team have of the legal process, the correct way to reply and submit information to the government, the insight she has of the best way to prepare and deliver the case to the agencies and court became very apparent early on while working with her. For someone who has health problems, dealing with all of this was completely overwhelming and unbearable in most cases. For me, most of the time I did not have the energy or the time (meaning I had limited periods of time where I may feel well enough to respond to all the requests and information this process required). I now know that without Melissa, I would not have been able to attempt this on my own and I am very blessed that I was fortunate to have her and a team of professional, tenacious, and patient people to work on my behalf. I would highly suggest that to anyone who is seeking an excellent attorney (potential client or hiring her), Melissa Haggerty should be strongly considered. If you ever get the pleasure to work with this office....DO IT! A little over a year ago I was hit & ran over by a Dodge 2500 while on my road bike. The driver was rightfully ticketed for failure to yield to a bicyclist. I was highly recommended to contact this office by our local Cycle advocacy in Bend, OR. From that point they took over & words can't describe how fortunate we were to be able to work with this office, specifically Raymond Thomas for accepting my initial call & Cynthia Newton & her team for taking my case. Because of all their hard work I was able to enjoy my life as best I could while recovering from the broken bones & other injuries. We welcomed our first son a few months after the accident & having these ladies taking care of everything allowed me to fully enjoy my son instead of being stressed or worried about bills, the hospital, the other drivers insurance heck I didn't even have to communicate with my insurance or any of the other million moving parts with a personal injury case. Through the whole process they communicated so so so so well just amazingly well! They happily took random phone calls if I wasn't understanding they respond promptly to emails, they welcome questions. Overall as you can see I truly had a delightful experience working with this office, my family & I couldn't give a higher recommendation.

This firm is absolutely top notch, and the attorneys are wonderful and nice. I would have to say that my experience is best summed up as: "I came in expecting nothing and walked out with everything." Ray Thomas is great, but I ended up working mostly with Cynthia Newton and Chris Thomas, assisted variously by Kristin Kidd and Rebecca Cassady. I was always treated extremely well. Even their front desk person asks, when you check in for a meeting, whether you want something to drink. I hope, because of the circumstances that led to our meeting, that I never have to go there again in a professional capacity. But it was definitely a great experience, and I highly recommend the firm.

Melissa Haggerty is my attorney helping me with my SSI disability case. When I first met her she was impressive with her knowledge of the law and the system. She explained clearly how we would go about my case. It took many months due to the back log of cases to get in front of the Judge. Her assistant Holly helped tremendously all along the way keeping me informed of updates. Finally we have a court date and Melissa gathers all final doctors letters, medical records etc. Melissa had a great memory remembering all the details of my medical conditions and was well prepared going in front of the Judge. She handled herself professionally in front of the Judge and with all the correct preparation, the Judge made a favorable decision on my case right there on the spot! I owe my peace of mind to the team here at Thomas, Coon, Newton & Frost. It took 2 hearings and two and a half years (yes. 2.5 years!) before I received a favorable decision from Social Security. During this long and very stressful time, the associates here helped me through every obstacle. My lawyer Scott Sell went above and beyond by communicating with my private long term disability provider on my behalf, advocating so that I didn't loose those benefits while my social security case dragged on. He even helped me to collect myself when SS notified me that a second hearing was needed. He answered all my questions and never talked down to me. I felt heard and respected through the whole process. Filing for Social Security Disability is a complicated and stressful process. Don't let anyone tell you that you can maneuver it by yourself. I recommend that you make an appointment with this firm sooner than later.
