Knowing that they were capably handling the legal arguments related to my values of transparency, efficiency and accountability allowed me to shore up my life, make sure my child and home were safe and to process what had happened. Prior to ever pursuing a legal remedy for a dispute, I would caution anyone to ask if your values compel you to spend years reliving something unfair and disruptive to your life.
