I became acquainted with Chris Roy when I needed help with a disability claim that had been approved and then denied. In searching for an attorney, I found that attorneys that understand private disability claims are few and far between. I actually contacted an attorney with who I am personal friends and the closest legal firm that he could suggest was in Seattle, Washington. I have found Chris very down to earth but also very knowledgeable in this type of law. My case is against an insurance company that held the long-term disability for employees where I worked. He has succeeded in winning the first stage of my case and is currently working on the next stage. He knows the law and quotes it to the denying insurance company and then combs through their reasonings and formulates a plan for me to follow. He has taken a great deal of the burden of providing information by being organized and thorough. Because of the death of a business associate who owed me a great deal of money at the time of his death, it became necessary for me to file a lawsuit against his estate to collect the remaining money on a contract. The first attorney I used wasted time and resources and accomplished nothing; she, with no prior notice to me, left the firm. My file was given to Chris Roy. Having been "burned" by the first attorney who made absolutely no progress in several months, I was hesitant to continue with someone at the same firm. I wisely decided to at least talk to him. Mr. Roy looked over the file and was quite disturbed it had so little done on it and expressed it should have already been settled. My decision to employ him to continue was an excellent decision. He "got things moving" immediately and stayed on task though the opposing attorney kept trying to introduce irrelevant distractions. His constant response to the other attorney's distractions was "this is a contract, she provided services, she has not been paid in full for those services" and kept it to what the lawsuit was about - a contract for professional services which had not been paid in full. Chris Roy kept everything on track, performed efficiently, kept me well informed, and the suit was settled in a timely manner. He did this all after being given a file that had been terribly mishandled. From the day he took it over, it moved smoothly and very professionally. I was delighted to find he went into private practice "on his own." My experience with him was so good that I hired him when I had another legal matter to address concerning my mother's property foreclosure and her mortgage company trying to include me in the process even though I had absolutely no interest or responsibility in her business matters. Again, Mr. Roy handled it professionally and expediently. I highly recommend him to anyone who has need of an attorney. If your case is not one that he feels not to be the best attorny for you, he will refer you to someone who is. My first step for any legal need will always be to contact Mr. Roy! I, like many, am distrustful of attorneys in general, but I have total confidence in Chris Roy and have found him trustworthy, professional and skillful.
