Roy Law was exceptional. They helped me acquire my LTD benefits after two appeal denials on my own. I want to mention Kali Mustafa who was especially helpful. I would recommend the firm to anyone who is struggling with this issue.

Chris’s practice answers the unethical practices of large and impersonal insurance companies with honesty, clarity and resolve. From the moment I called him, it felt like a huge weight had been lifted from my shoulders. He knows the process very well now and his practice has grown by leaps and bounds. But he was right there, on top of every detail over the course of my ~3-year fight. I knew that I was disabled. My short-term disability company took my doctor’s word for it. But my long term disability company did not. And that was the trap that so many people fall into, I have come to find. I would have saved so much angst (and money) if I had consulted with Chris before filing for LTD. As it turned out, I had an unusually strong case, but still chose to settle for a reasonable amount. That amount clearly would have been greater, and the amount I had to pay Chris substantially less, if I had gotten his help before filing. But as it was, he rolled up his sleeves, wrote excellent briefs and presented a very strong case in federal court. Don’t be fooled into believing that an LTD company will just take your doctor’s word for it and that you should be able to file the forms yourself! You are likely not an expert on ERISA. You know darn well that the insurance companies are. And it is a lot of money that we’re talking about. So they will only pay if they have no choice. So at least call Chris as early as you can in the process. You won’t regret it. He gets ERISA and he understands the process in Washington and Oregon particularly well, so you won’t have to learn through the school of hard knocks! Like others, I struggled to find an LTD lawyer. The big nationwide companies were happy to work with me, but felt bureaucratic. When I called Chris, he just had all the answers and seemed on top of it. Now, that is no guarantee that he will be for you. You have to use your own judgement. Take those free consultations as an opportunity to form your own opinions. And once you decide, you will feel like you truly are in good hands, like the way you are supposed to feel when you pay for disability insurance for 29 years.

I was devastated when my long term disability payments abruptly stopped one day. After contacting my insurance provider they informed me that upon my recent graduation from college that I no longer qualified for benefits even though there were no dis-qualifiers in my contract with them stating as such. In short, they were dishonoring my contract with them and dropping me flat with no warning. So when I say I was devastated you can imagine what I mean. When I asked him if I could get my retainer back he said he would mail it out the next day. That was when I knew I had the right law firm and the right lawyer. If he had those kind of ethics going in, I knew that was the kind of lawyer I wanted representing me in my case. Roy Law represented me in my uphill battle to get what was right against a Goliath of an insurance company and their team of lawyers. While I was anxious and inpatient, my lawyer, Chris Roy remained calm, tactical, and most importantly, professional. While the insurance company never budged we moved along building our case and winning at trial. Now, with the big insurance company shamed at their trial loss, they refuted once again and appealed our win to a higher court. Chris Roy negotiated through mediation to get me a handsomely large settlement and a BIG WIN. I cannot say enough about the professional ethics and hard work of Chris Roy and his staff. I highly recommend his services to anyone seeking justice in the face of travesty when dealing with insurance/disability claims or any of the other services he provides for his clients. Facing permanent disability and unable to work I thought my insurance would cover me, boy was I wrong! I had paid the premium for many years through my employer just in case something ever happened.
