I wouldn’t use Paul if he was the last attorney, better to do the legal process yourself. He is a bumbling idiot in my opinion. Wrong in his assertions and strategies at every turn and always freaking surprised. I know you can’t win every case but like other reviews have stated, he is unresponsive, negligent and petty. Watch out.

I should have done my research because I am finding now that my review follows a very similar trend reflected in others' reviews. We waited almost 2 weeks for a consultation. At the time of the scheduled appointment, we waited 5 minutes of silence before calling the office and notifying them we were ready for our appointment. They took down our information said they would pass along the message. We waited 10 additional minutes of silence and called again when someone else answered. They took our information down again and said they would pass along the message. I decided to shoot an email as well just in case. We still have not heard a peep from Paul or any of his assistants. Based on our experience and what we see in other's reviews, it appears that Paul neither cares about people nor his reputation. A huge disappointment, especially considering he has been practicing for about 10 years.

Had initial consultation with Mr. Thompson; he agreed to help me with a landlord habitability/civil issue. Told me to get a one-page letter of facts to him but got off the phone before providing me an email address. Was able to finally get him on the phone a few weeks later, only to have him ask if I would call him back as he was super busy. 3 days later, I was able to catch him on the phone again, only to have him tell me he was busy filing a motion and stated he would get right back to me. Have now tried for over 2.5 weeks SIMPLY to get an email address from this guy. Eventually just gave up figuring if he’s this incompetent now, how bad will it eventually get. Apparently, Mr. Thompson has a penchant for not following through on his obligations. Just go to his website; and click on any link other than his home page. You’ll quickly understand just how flaky he truly is.

I called on Monday made an appt spoke with a Gwendolyn was told they were taking new clients. Explained my issue also gave the names of 2 other people who want to join my lawsuit. She took all my info. Tuesday received an email stating not taking new clients I called. I don't check my email daily. I was still on the books for Wednesday at 11am. I called twice and was told someone would return my call. Nope never happened. I called today at 11 for my consultation and the reception person Daniel told me he could take a message but the person I needed to talk to wasn't available. I am livid, I would have left -0 stars if that was an option. That is not how you treat people. It was supposed to be a consultation.

We hired Paul A. Thompson to help us get our money back from a contractor that did not dispute what he owed us. We had a terrible experience with Mr. Thompson. First, it took him more than EIGHT MONTHS to get our case, one where the other side was unrepresented and unresponsive, to an arbitration hearing. Then it took him another NINE MONTHS to reduce the arbitration award into a judgment that we could use to collect our money back. It took Mr. Thompson three tries to get the arbitration award converted into a court judgment because he kept forgetting to attach the right documents, or to follow the right procedures. A year into this process, an attorney for the contractor pointed out that Mr. Thompson has named the wrong party. He took no steps to fix that problem. Several months later, defendants second attorney informed him of the exact same error (naming the wrong business). Although he took no steps to fix the underlying problem, this time, Mr. Thompson informed us of his error and indicated that he had a “conflict of interest” and could not represent us. We did not understand why this was an issue the second time and he did not explain the difference to us between the first and second time. By this point, we had paid him around $7,000 and still did not have our money back from the contractor. It is clear to us that Paul Thompson took a case he knew very little about, did not know the procedural rules and did not understand certain basic legal concepts. He demonstrated a lack of attention to detail, he was unresponsiveness to our questions, and he continually demonstrated a general unfamiliarity with construction law. In trying to negotiate some satisfaction from Mr. Thompson in lieu of his poor performance he rejected an amicable mutual release agreement with us. Had Mr. Thompson been upfront and earnest with us about his skill set and his experience, we would not have hired him—a fact that I am sure he was aware of when we first met with him. We spent two years, several thousand dollars, and untold stress and grief, only to do what we should have done in the first place—hire someone who knows what they are doing. We had a terrible experience with Paul Thompson.

So I got to Paul when I was almost out of hope, he has brought my family out of a horrible situation and continues to fight for my family. I have overwhelmed him at times with information, but he is patient and deals with each issue calmly. I feel blessed to have him represent my family in the fight ahead, and appreciate his support and compassion more than he will ever understand.

On 9/11/13 Mr Thompson represented us in a BBB arbitration involving LeafGuard NW. We knew Mr Thompson was just beginning his legal practice and we thought we'd give him a chance since we were convinced we'd win. (We didn't, but neither did the other side.)
Firstly, Mr Thompson did a poor job in his opening statement. He barely spoke above a whisper. I wrote it off to first time jitters. But then the opposing council came after me very harshly. I looked over to my lawyer, Mr. Thompson, and not only was he not defending me but he was enjoying the opposing council's routine. He actually had a smile on his face! I couldn't believe it.
Even the arbitrator said he shouldn't have let it go on that long. It was completely irrelevant anyway. But my lawyer seemed to be enjoying the beating I, his client, was receiving at the hands of opposing council. I was willing to let it go but the last straw was when I left the room for a second after it was all over and came back in just in time to see Mr Thompson roll his eyes at the opposing council and say, "I wasn't the first" implying that I was a difficult client and went through numerous lawyers.
Untrue. He was the first. We gave him a chance. We took him out to lunch at a nice place. He drank good wine. I handed him the entire case on a platter. And this is the thanks I get? Not only was he completely incompetent, but he flat out fed me to the wolves.
