Good experience

I got divorced a couple of years ago, and it is a painful process that is sometimes inevitable. I doubt that anyone who goes through a divorce finds the experience rewarding. Having said that, I'm very pleased with the legal advice and representation I got from Herb. In my opinion, he's extremely knowledgeable, has a lot of experience in family law, and I believe that he went above and beyond to help me get through a very stressful time. The same goes for his assistant Lee Ann. They are both highly skilled, and highly professional. Since the divorce, I have continued to use their services for other legal matters like wills, and I plan to continue using them for any legal concerns, should the need arise. I couldn't be more pleased with their services

Nichols Law Group was my first experience with an attorney. LeeAnn Donaldson has exceptional communication skills and helped me understand the process every step of the way. She was very thorough and I felt confident in her knowledge, experience and in my representation. Gayle is also a wonderful asset to the practice. I was very happy with the outcome of my case and my expectations were exceeded.

Kevin was originally great when we filed the federal title IX lawsuit against my former college (SWOCC). We discovered the defendants had appeared to call in some favors with some powerful friends to try to discredit me, specifically Oregon DHS. The social worker who took my children was SWOCC alumni, friends with SWOCC faculty, and the DHS office used to be on SWOCC's campus. She took my children and committed perjury, as well as broke laws of confidentiality to build a bogus case against me. It took me 9 months to disprove her lies and get my children back. Even after I had them both back and disproved these lies, DHS tried very hard to keep their case open so they could continue to "investigate"me. Kevin and I threatened to go on record about the collusion in court. Not only did DHS then dismiss their case, there was an effort to keep me from showing up to the dismissal hearing! I was very excited about this triumph and very happy with Kevin, the he suddenly appeared to be spooked or something, because he stopped all communication and progress on the case. He wouldn't meet with me, return my calls, return emails- nothing. This went on for several months. Meanwhile my children and I were illegally evicted from our home, and forced to move into a shelter run by the SAFE Project, coincidentally SAFE is direct partners with SWOCC!! When the first article about my case was published, my children and I were kicked out of the shelter in what appeared to be retaliation. We were then forced to live in a plywood shed in someones backyard for almost two months! While all of this was happening to us, my trusted attorney was completely ghosting me! Many more months pass, Kevin continues to be terrible at communication. He continues "working" my case, but by working- I mean filing extensions and doing very little actual work. He did not consult with me about any extensions or changes to my case. I recently threatened to file for a hearing myself to tell the judge about his lack of representation- still nothing. Then I emailed and asked him for opposing counsels email address, because if he wasn't going to represent me- it was up to me to try to get this case back on track- STILL NOTHING! At this point, I have zero other options but to try to represent myself until I can expose the amount of corruption that is quite clearly surrounding my case. I tracked down the opposing counsels email address and let him know I would be taking over for my AWFUL attorney. Then just a few short hours later I heard from Kevin for the first time IN MONTHS, he emailed me the motion to withdrawal as my attorney, he actually had the nerve to say I had given consent! I guess technically I did, but only after having zero actual representation for the better part of a year. Don't hire this man. He "represented" me for over a year and refused to meet me in person the entire time. Meanwhile, witnesses are losing their recollections and evidence is being lost. Thankfully, I can prove all of this- so hopefully he won't have the opportunity to do this to anyone else.
