Avoid this firm! After paying 12k to this firm within a short period of time, I was told to find a new counsel ( via phone call) due to the retirement of my attorney. My case was 30 days away at this point. I called the firm to inquire about my options . I was then transferred to Maria Cognetti, who was extremely rude to me and kept saying I couldn't afford her and that her retainer starts at 20k, and she refuses to take my case. My case had one court date left. All other tasks had been completed. Lynn ( her front desk) called back almost immediately and stated both attorney's spoke and attorney Kendall agreed to continue my case BUT the retainer had now gone up TWO THOUSAND more dollars than the original bill I received a day or two prior. When I questioned Lynn regarding the retainer increase, she stated it was due to attorney Kendalls retirement. I then called to question that & I was transferred back to Maria. She then told me he wasn't taking the case period. I then asked Maria if the judge had honored attorney Kendalls withdrawal on my case. The next morning, attorney Kendall emailed me and said he would take my case for the original retainer amount. They only care about the money. The fees were outrageous. I paid $170 for attorney Kendall to review a three worded email. Go anywhere else! I obviously obtained a new attorney after this who handled my case with care.

I've had two experiences with this woman. First time was positive. Second time (years later) her firm refused to take a meeting with me. Unless you have a lot of money you need to get the help you need elsewhere.

I am dissatisfied with the behavior of this law firm, which has wronged a friend and respected member of our community. After attempting to address my concerns with the firm's owner, I was met with a lie from the paralegal about the owner's availability. This incident reflects the unprofessional conduct that I have observed since my friend first retained this firm. My friend, a responsible and law-abiding individual, was taken advantage of financially by this firm. They have failed to provide adequate communication and have not honored their obligations under the retainer agreement. I have filed complaints with the local bar association and will continue to advocate for my friend and protect others from this firm's unethical behavior.

I made a appointment with the owner for a consultation. Her secretary called me to ask me if I wanted to make an appointment with Maria cognetti or her associate for less money. I stated that my friend was going through a divorce but had no money, does she take cases like that ? I was told she does at time take cases like that but we had to go through the consultation first to see if she would. We went to see her, she said she never takes cases like that and her office would of never told me such things! Well this was the only office I ever talked to so 100% I was told that! She said she has never done that. I spent 509.00 for nothing! I do not make that kind of money and for her office to deceive me like that was not right! I would have never came there to give someone 509.00 for nothing!!!! Her secretary also didn’t tell me she was allergic to perfume… but Maria basically called me a liar that her firm said she sometimes takes cases where the client pays afterwards, but shocked her we weren’t told about her perfume allergy?…. So I’m out of 500. For nothing, I said would I showed up to just give you 509.00 for nothing? Just think about that….. if they were honest at the beginning, and if it was a fact they never did that I would of never gone to hand over 509.00 cash for nothing…. Think about that…. And yes it was the only law firm I talked to! She made it seem like I talked to another lawyer. No 100% cognetti law firm 100% that they told me she sometimes takes special cases with no money… so I feel scammed. I wasted hard earned money for nothing!!!! We don’t make a lot in life to hand out for nothing! The fact she made me feel like I lied about what her secretary said is even worse!!!! Think about this … why would I come there if I had no money? I asked the secretary that question! She said yes she does take cases like yours with no money upfront, but you have to get the consultation first to see if your case qualifies.. then Maria said she has never taken a case like that ever!!!!!! Wow bye 509.00 for nothing!!!!!!!!!!

While no attorney can change certain ugly facts about a situation, it's almost imperative to have someone on your side who exhibits an appreciable level of humanity when it comes to family law. Cara represented me during multiple custody conferences in a relatively short time frame and was continuously responsive to my concerns and empathetic while at the same time capable of helping me maintain a straightforward approach. She also helped me avoid what I believe would have been protracted litigation and we ultimately achieved an acceptable solution. I hate to have to recommend a counselor to anyone whose case has escalated beyond a particular degree of absurdity based on the mere fact that such a situation has to be faced; that said, I personally don't think I could have asked for better representation.

Cognetti Law Group was recommended to me by a friend who is a lawyer, and it turned out to be very good advice. Attorney Boyanowski listened to all of my concerns and answered all of my questions promptly. She was extremely efficient and knowledgeable about every detail encountered. I felt that she was genuinely concerned about me and that I was well taken care of. All of the staff at the firm were very professional and helpful. I would rate my experience with this firm as an A+.

Working with Attorney Cogentti was a refreshing experience. Her ability to explain the divorce process in terms I could understand was remarkable!! She very patiently listened to me and then proceeded without having to bother me except for major decisions. Searching for a divorce attorney is difficult and stressful. I was fortunate to have a conversation with an attorney that practiced divorce law out of state so I asked her what I should look for. She suggested that I look for an attorney with AAML (American Academy of Matrimonial Lawyers) credentials. After searching the AAML website I was surprised to find fewer than 30 AAML lawyers there were in the whole state of Pennsylvania. I contacted Cognetti law and after my first consultation I was confident that I found what I was looking for. Cognetti is logical, systematic, and analytical yet she has the ability to simplify the divorce process. Cognetti seamlessly answers every question I have without needing to get back to me. Her experience is immediately self evident. It is refreshing to experience an attorney that is great listener, courteous, and one that has the grit to get the job done! I believe an attorney’s support staff can make a huge difference especially in a divorce. They are very responsive addressing any communications and addressing my concerns.
