Cons
1
Inconsistent quality of representation and lack of preparation
“Brandon was the worst lawyer for a child custody trial. He was not prepared at all. He 5 months to get ready and didn't. Was a waste of 10 grand.”
2
Overcharging and poor billing practices
“This firm cost me my life savings in a custody and divorce case. When I explained to Jay Abom and my lawyer, Michele, that it would be difficult to make up those payments, I was told they wouldn't abandon me and would still be my representation. Fast forward a few weeks to when the ex started to make unfounded allegations and I call my lawyer asking for help with that representation. Guess what the response was? "Pay up your bill and give us another $5,000 retainer."”
3
Lack of communication and updates on case progress
“Stephanie continiously dropped the ball, was regularly unprepared. NEVER called/emailed/anything to update me on the case.”
4
Attorneys who appear disinterested or give up easily
“Facing federal drug charges is hard enough but when your court appointed attorney (Abom) shows up and essentially tells you that he is there to tell you the amount of time you're facing and seems to have zero interest in even attempting to fight for you ... really makes it hard to believe there is anyone who cares.”
5
Instances of legal malpractice and poor representation
“I hired Stephanie for an unbelievably important criminal and custody case. My co-defendant who had a PUBLIC DEFENDER and an identical case to me got the charges all but dropped while I am stuck with a felony and incarceration and over a year probation.”
