Peter was my attorney for my recent collaborative divorce. At our first meeting, he asked my goals for the process and the outcome. And he consistently worked to meet them. He helped me understand the process and kept me informed on what to expect. At all times, Peter was very accessible - returning my calls and emails very quickly. He was level headed (and kept me that way!), interested in driving to the best solution for everyone, and worked to do so as quickly as possible. I found him to be trustworthy throughout and highly recommend him!

Initially, I agreed to share my wife's attorney to keep costs down. However, I became concerned when the initial draft of our property agreement was vastly different from that which she and I initially discussed and. it was at that time that I decided to retain my own attorney and was referred to Peter by my cousin who was represented by Peter during her divorce. During my initial consultation with Peter, I was impressed from the very start. He presented as calm, focused, and confident. Peter took the time to listen to my concerns while he also reviewed the initial draft of the property agreement. He educated me with regards to that which I was entitled to in the agreement while pointing out the discrepancies between my rights and the initial draft. Then, Peter presented a focused and detailed action plan that was designed to assure that my rights and best interest were being maintained. Peter initiated the action plan by communicating with my "ex's" attorney in a timely manner. Peter communicated all of his actions to me diligently and consistently as well. I felt well informed and well apprised of the status and progress of my case throughout its duration. Peter answered my emails in a timely manner as well while addressing any questions or concerns I asserted in a professional manner. After our Case Conference Hearing in March, the four of us convened in an empty courtroom to attempt to reach a final agreement with regards to the property settlement. Here, Peter took complete control of the exchange and proved to be a strategic, focused, and goal oriented negotiator. I truly enjoyed watching him work. Our property agreement was settled within less than an hour and we conceded only a few minor items that become irrelevant with the new tax law in the coming year. All in all, I felt well represented by Peter. He was detail oriented, highly knowledgeable, confident, and timely. He produced everything he promised and left nothing to chance. He was truly "on top of his game" at all times. In summary, Peter made sure that I was treated fairly during the negotiations and divorce process. He made sure that limits were set on my liabilities with regards to our children's expenses such as cars, college, and health care. Additionally and as a direct result of Peter's efforts, I was made aware that I was entitled to and granted significant portions of my "ex's" retirement funds which included a 401K and two pensions. This would have gone unrecognized if not for Peter. Peter is a credit to his profession and one to which the standards of others should aspire. I would recommend him to anyone any time.

My contact with Mr. Bort's office was surprisingly brief as they were so quick and easy to work with; they really helped me attain a fast resolution by always turning paperwork around fast and accurately while keeping me fully informed of the process. I found everyone on staff knowledgeable and helpful and I felt that my interests were fully understood and protected.

My experience started as a consultation, but it was an easy decision to hire Peter Bort. He met with me in person and discussed the entire process of a divorce. He was considerate and showed compassion in making sure everything was done accurately from day one until now. The interaction with his staff was exceptional as well. They always made me feel comfortable and answered any and all questions I had along the way. They even offered to assist in my name change, which was wonderful as it was another step off of my plate. I honestly thought this whole process would be difficult and stressful, but Peter and his team made it the exact the opposite. For that, I am greatful.

Peter made the divorce process as easy as it could be and the process was actually pretty quick overall. He was knowledgable, honest, and easy to talk to. His services are very reasonably priced, and I didn't feel like he was misleading me in anyway. Peter is an excellent attorney of the highest integrity. He was very helpful in assisting me with a few items concerning my residential property. I used Peter primarily for my divorce as well as several other minor legal issues (RE transactions and an issue with my housing association). Peter and his team was always professional and responsive. With respect to the divorce, I felt he had every aspect covered throughout the entire process. He laid out a solid strategy from day one and he worked very efficiently. As such, I never felt he was "running up my bill" at any time. While my case was relatively straightforward, there were some valuation issues that occurred with our jointly owned home at the time of the divorce. Peter effectively argued in my favor that the drop in valuation of the home should have been considered in the ultimate settlement with my ex (I bought my wife out). This resulted in me saving meaningful dollars. I have and will continue to recommend Peter. In fact, the outcome of my divorce proceedings were so favorable that my ex-wife, who used another attorney, shared with me that she actually recommends Peter Bort as well!
