Ray's tenure as district attorney is a masterclass in ethical bankruptcy and professional ineptitude, making a mockery of justice at every conceivable turn. Known in the community for his notoriously dubious character, both personally and professionally, his reputation is so sullied that during the last election cycle, both the police fraternity and local lawyers felt compelled to endorse his opponent en masse—a profound statement considering his former role as a police officer. One can only assume this is related to his unethical conduct during his time with Westfall police that led to his suspension.
The depths of his moral depravity were fully exposed when, in a vile exploitation of tragedy, Ray manipulated the death of a fallen trooper into a political stunt for TV and mailing ads. This distasteful gambit not only underscored his opportunism but also had the perverse effect of tainting the jury pool, thereby inflating the cost to taxpayers—all in a desperate clutch at victory, which he barely secured by defecting to the Democratic ticket after losing the Republican primary.
In the courtroom, Ray's record is equally abysmal. He displays an astonishing aversion to challenging cases, preferring to cherry-pick only those he deems guaranteed wins. This cowardice was glaringly apparent in the harrowing case of Ryan Rand—a severe child abuse scenario described by a medical professional as the worst they've ever seen, leaving the child with a permanent cranial plate. Yet, despite the severity, Ray has let this case languish for over six years.
On social media, Ray masquerades as a champion of the vulnerable, yet his actions tell a story of a man who not only fails to protect but actively harms those in his care. His egregious conduct includes bullying victims, hurling insults, and forcing special needs children to testify in court directly in front of their abusers—behavior so unbecoming that even his own staff openly discuss his tempestuous nature.
Moreover, Ray's disregard for legal norms extends to his online behavior. Despite a clear Supreme Court ruling in 2024 that prohibits elected officials from blocking critics on public pages, Ray continues this unconstitutional practice unabated, further demonstrating his disdain for both the law and the democratic process. In summary, Ray's career is a parade of disgrace, marked by a profound failure of moral and professional duty.
