I submitted a contact form via the Lento Law Group website briefly describing a professional license issue with my state Department of Education. The following is a summarized email transcript between "Amanda" with Lento Law Firm and me on May 16, 2024: Amanda: For your brief further reference as needed, we focus on professional license issues and concerns and related matters nationwide as applicable. We charge a $350 consultation fee to proceed for our professional input and availability in this regard. Upon payment of the consultation fee... we can proceed further for purposes of the consultation, which initially will entail us sending you a detailed email requesting what is necessary for our review and assessment... The phone consultation itself will be scheduled as soon as administratively possible based on present Firm availability (not the same day payment is made)... We will try to take into account a client's potential deadlines ...consultations will often be scheduled within one or several days after payment is made/case information is received. ...once payment is made, we are being engaged for purposes of the consultation, you will be charged the non- refundable (earned upon receipt) $350 consultation fee, and we will proceed accordingly on your behalf. Me: Thank you for the information. Before proceeding, can you tell me how familiar your firm is with non-criminal educator misconduct and the ***** Department of Education? Amanda: We focus on professional license issues and concerns and related matters nationwide in various capacities. Me: Unfortunately, that does not directly answer my question. I am in no financial position to pay a consultation fee if an attorney is not experienced with cases against the ***** Department of Education. I have received no further correspondence from the firm. Due to the lack of transparency and the word salad in "Amanda's" responses I would proceed cautiously before submitting a non-refundable consultation fee. Furthermore, the high reviews lack substance and specific details.
