I approached this firm for a very straightforward and simple legal agreement. I had a horrible experience, and recommend avoiding them at all costs. I don’t mind paying a high price for excellent professional services, but this firm was extremely opaque and deceitful in their billing practices. In the past, I’ve used lawyers for a variety of professional and business purposes. Those law firms either charged by the hour, or collected a full retainer up front in exchange for a set number of rounds of edits/negotiations. This firm collected a retainer from me up front, and then attempted to charge my credit card hundreds of dollars on multiple occasions until I finally blocked them. There was never a signed or agreed upon hourly rate for their services, but they “debited” my retainer, and then proceeded to charge my credit card for a bunch of things not related to the actual work I paid for. These include a variety of monthly “fees”, and having multiple lawyers “review my case for accuracy” all at a steep hourly rate, even though I never agreed to it. I’ve also never gotten such a long and dense contract from a law firm to complete a small legal agreement. I cannot stress enough to avoid this firm. They did not handle billing transparently or ethically.
