John Stember is one of the worst attorneys I have ever come across. I have been an executive for over twenty years, and have utilized many attorneys. I was laid off and had a guaranteed severance package I was entitled to. I called John Stember’s office and he took a week to call me back, but his excuse was that he was a “Super Lawyer” and spent his Marches in Florida but could send an email and make a phone call and he would have my severance delivered to me and I wouldn’t have to sign an exit agreement?? I should have listened to my wife but I didn’t and I was conned out of a 2500.00 retainer by this charlatan. He literally never updated me on the case, wrote one demand letter and when he sent it to me it had spelling errors in it! Then he brought in his associate and billed at the same rate as himself. He failed to forward emails to me to verify my address, and just seemed like his head was spinning in the clouds. In all transparency, I think this guy should retire. He couldn’t keep the facts of the case straight, and I could have done what he did (Get ZERO results) on my own. Here I am no severance, and 2500.00 lighter because John Stember conned me out of my retainer. He even had the audacity to try to bill me over 2800.00 for having 5 phone calls under 20mins, writing one letter, and sending three emails. I hope this review helps someone else thinking of using this law firm because he is horrible! My wife is a paralegal and she couldn’t believe how unresponsive he was. I should have gone with my gut and gone with a real attorney like Sharon Lopez who runs circles around this guy and cheaper! What a waste of money! Stay away from this guy!!

He provided detailed estimate of cost, expectations and next steps over the phone and immediately sent out written documentation of our discussion. While no one truly wants to contact legal counsel, if you must, I highly recommend Jon Cohn. He laid out the entire process and timeline and delivered earlier than expected with the results.
