During a trip to the local emergency room, I had a young doctor with an attitude towards me who wanted me involuntarily committed. He started the paper work to do so, but my family doctor who knew me personally for 20 or more years and did not agree with the young doctor so he released me from hospital the next day. The paperwork was never filled and a hearing before a judge was never held, but the paper wok he stated was left in my medical records and sent to the county and then sent to the state police incorrectly who thought I had been committed and therefore unable to own a firearm. I found this out many years later when I was turned down for a gun purchase. My attorney saw the illegality of what had happened and accepted the case. It took over a year to process my case before a judge but at the hearing I just listened as the State Police representative and the County representative admitted that there basically was not a problem and that it was a clerical error that should not have happened. I have had my rights restored for the past 5 years and would recommend my attorney to anyone.
