Leona took us through a very important process in navigating education law, something we were entirely unprepared . We had been through multiple schools and multiple rounds of attempts to make things work, and Leona actually had the correct answers for us to get to the appropriate education for our child.

I cannot thank Leona Goldshaw enough for helping my son and me through the most difficult time in our lives. My son was severely misunderstood in his public elementary school. He was restrained multiple times, suspended twice and isolated for more than one month. All of that caused physical, emotional and mental suffering. He started to have tics, frequent stomach aches and night terrors. He was refusing to go to school as he was miserable there to the point that he decided to change his name “to be a different person so people/kids do not know him and play with him.” Leona went above and beyond to advocate for my son, to find an appropriate placement for him and to get funds from the district. My son is back to being a happy child again and loves to go to his new private school. In addition, Leona provided me with fantastic support when I was stressed, exhausted and depressed and did not know where to go and what to do. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.

Leona has my family's gratitude forever. She helped us obtain appropriate placement for our 14 year old son with very significant learning and social-emotional struggles. Leona helped us understand our strange and non-intuitive system of legal redress. Our district excels at denial and stonewalling and Leona was persistent, careful, methodical, and very fierce when it counted! She knew where our leverage was and won the necessary concessions. Not to mention getting the district to pay us back legal and some other expenses in this struggle for reasonable accomodations. We couldn't be more pleased!

Leona made an incredibly challenging time with issues regarding our daughter’s education easier to navigate. She is thoughtful in her guidance, has exceptional attention to detail and is kind and caring. While I wish we hadn’t needed a lawyer, working with Leona was an easy process and ultimately brought us successful results.

In just a 30 minute phone call, Leona made me feel more at ease as a parent. My son is autistic and Leona helped me feel informed and in control of all of our options when it comes to his IEP and specialized education rights. We retained Leona's help to get our son into a school more equipped to serve his neurodiversity. Our son has high functioning autism and was in a critical mental health crisis due to his learning environment when we met Leona. She was kind, level headed, and patient with us as we navigated learning what we needed to know. She helped show us the way. Leona is responsive and great at explaining things. She was tough and very thorough. We were perfectly coached and prepared by her to get our son into an environment that is most appropriate for him. He is now flourishing. This line of work is so critically important for children and families completely under duress and attacked / neglected by the bureaucratic system matrix and its lackluster/corrupt government actors. What a disaster that was enfolding in our daughter's situation requiring special needs. It was infuriating, traumatic, and basically exhausting as parents we worked tirelessly to be proactive and get the school district to be on same page to no avail and they kept dragging their feet. We were patient with a smile but their lacking persisted and it became evident that the only program in the country that could take our daughter was about to close doors on the application because the school district dragging their feet. It was then we realized we needed a warrior attorney and we realized we had one in Leona and we should've already retained her. We panicked a bit because we felt we may too late in retaining Leona with enough time. Well, after a couple minutes speaking with Leona's paralegals, they assured us of many things that Leona will be able to help us with and that same day Leona called us to get to work and we retained her. From thereon it was all our pleasure benefitting from her knowledge and experience and leadership resolving our messed up situation very quickly and in the process even gave the program that accepted our daughter great confidence that things would be resolved quickly by Leona and they were right! They even told us after speaking with Leona on the phone we had tremendous confidence things will get resolved and they could hold the position for our daughter. I just want to say that is rare because they had hundreds of applications and only taking 3 for the available positions. Wow that was just amazing how quickly and professionally Leona worked to get the school district to not only do the right thing but also recognize how they are not afforded the option to screw up and drag their feet like they were! Everything changed within the first 24-48 hours and it was victory after victory after victory. Words can barely begin to describe how amazing Leona and her staff are at what they do. Through this experience working with Leona and her staff, we're so encouraged not only by how our precious daughter was able to receive the critical care program she needed but also coming to see and know there is an absolute warrior out there fighting for children and keeping these bureaucratic nightmare machines honest and humble to do the right thing. Hallelujah!

Leona is top notch. Her responsiveness made me wonder when she slept. I am so grateful for the tireless effort she put in to help my child get what he needed.

Leona Goldshaw did an excellent job representing us in trying to get accommodations for our child in school. Leona was knowledgeable, professional, detailed, kind and compassionate. She was available day and night to answer questions and offer guidance during what was a very difficult time for our family. She was a wonderful advocate for our child and even took time to speak with her and answer her questions and explain things to her. I needed a attorney to help put up a fight with my sons school, and Leona Goldshaw did just that. She knows what she’s doing. She was always so detailed from the phone calls, to the emails.
