John Calcagni is the best criminal defense lawyer around. He has a ton of trial experience and was a federal prosecutor. He helped my friend in a big federal case and achieved an amazing result. A lot of times society is quick to make lawyer jokes. But, when you think about it--whether you are falsely accused of something or you rightfully earned certain charges--a lawyer truly is your best friend. They are the difference between: A) justice and B) the ever more increasing authority of the state. It is true: our system is not perfect. It is also true: bad people can get away with a lot thanks to lawyers. But, that's not Mr. Calcagni. The child under my care made a reckless mistake. Led the police on a high speed chase on a dirt bike. A fatuous decision and one that rightfully earned him some penalties. But, due to Mr. Calcagni's quick thinking, honest demeanor, and quite frankly, empathy, instead of this kid having his life ruined for one fatuous mistake he was given a second chance. A second chance that all of us have received in one way or another. I believe Mr. Calcagni to be a fantastic human being. I would recommend him and I certainly would like to think of him as a future associate if I ever needed a lawyer again.
