Claudia Gregoire was instrumental in helping me obtain my US Citizenship, as an American born abroad (Canada) to a US Citizen father. She possess an in depth knowledge to the laws surrounding immigration. Prior my consultation with Claudia, I had worked with a lawyer who had been helping become a us citizen through process of marriage as my wife was an American citizen. However my marriage ended amicably but obtaining citizenship had become increasingly more difficult. After six years without any progress I decided to seek consultation from several other lawyers as I felt I had a claim to US citizenship through my father. After consulting with 2 lawyers, they had both recommended I continue with the I-751 waiver to remove my condition on my green card, filing as a battered spouse through infidelity, overlooking the fact that my father is an American Citizen. On my first consultation with Claudia Gregoire, I explained my situation, and it was then that she confirmed I may have claim to US citizenship based on my fathers time frame of his physical presence in the United States. Claudia explained that we would need to gather Social Security documents from the SSA office to prove his presence, as well as my fathers naturalization certificate and a few other pertinent documents, to submit to the Department of State. After gathering all required documents, Claudia wrote a letter to the Department of State, explaining my case and my claim to Citizenship. While acquiring citizenship born abroad to a US citizen parent(s), is typically accomplished by filing a Consular Birth Abroad with the US embassy in that Country, it was possible as an adult to claim/acquire my US citizenship. The very detail of my fathers citizenship had been overlooked by every lawyer I had previously consulted with, but Claudia had made that very detail the basis of my case, and successfully helped me accomplish in 6 months what I had attempted for nearly 7 years. I thank Claudia and her legal team for their help and support, as without their efforts as well as their knowledge and experience, this process would of been much more difficult, if not nearly improbable.
