The circumstances of my case were such that they required a minor level of effort to approach the nuances of the situation. From my conversations with other Santa Barbara lawyers, in my first case he could have pushed for a better decision through increased communication and effort with the District Attorney. When I received a DUI, a more serious offense than my first charge, he was misleading in his role as an attorney. I did the required programs through Zona Seca and participated actively in all activities as dictated by the Santa Barbara Superior Court. After all of that, I was told by the DMV that I had to spend another 16 months at Zona Seca before I could get my license despite legal decisions surrounding my case. Pearlman was non-responsive on multiple occasions even after I had become aware of this information. When I finally got in contact with him, he informed me that I had no options other than to take the non-legally dictated decision of another 16 months at Zona Seca. In that same vein, he offered no legal advice nor action to approach or alter the decision, which was eventually determined to be a simple clerical error. Through other local Santa Barbara attorneys, I was luckily able to get the legal support I deserved. They were able to draft me a writ certiorari for a nominal price and worked to ensure I had my license back within a few months. The lack of Pearlman's willingness to help rectify my situation was remarkable. Had I not worked with other great attorneys in Santa Barbara, I would have been under the impression that I had no other options and was hopeless in responding the inadequacies of the DMV. If you have any nuances or complex components to your DUI, I would highly advise you continue to do your research and look elsewhere for consultation.

I can't express how grateful I feel to have hired Mr. Pearlman. He is an extremely experienced and thoughtful attorney. Moreover, I believe his long experience and reputation with the DA's office was critical to my success.
I was arrested for suspected DUI and multiple substance related charges. I was expecting the worst as this wasn't my first offense. In the end he got the multiple counts down to one possession charge leading to an informal probation which is so much better than I was expecting. I paid him a single very reasonable fee (not going to trial) and I always felt that I was getting a service consistently worth every penny I paid. I can't say that of other lawyers that have represented me at all. In fact, he kept to our contract without charging more even though the case unexpectedly dragged on for more than a year (solely due to the red-tape of the county).
I could tell that he really cared about my case and his office gave me the personal attention and time that I needed. He answered all my questions very promptly and professionally. Moreover, his office and administrative staff were just as helpful, polite and kind. They always dealt with any issues, paper work, court dates or appearances in a quick, detailed and professional manner.
I thought my career, life, license and professional certification were all going to be over & ruined. Instead, because I followed his advice and instructions, I'm getting a second chance and learning a serious lesson. I would 100% recommend Mr. Pearlman first for any criminal defense needs.

I contacted Mr. Pearlman due to being arrested after I was assaulted. I had no prior record and was the victim in this case looking at felony assault charges on myself and the other party. Mr. Pearlman assured the case would get dropped because of circumstances that I was the victim and assured me he knew people in D.A. Office to help expedite this matter. I gave him the retainer fee and signed paperwork. The day of my trial he was late and did not show on time before the judge to address my case. The case was dropped none of which was addressed by Mr. Pearlman to the courts. I emailed Mr. Pearlman that he did not represent me in court like he said, nor did he make any kind of reasonable attempt to discuss getting this arrest taken off my record like we discussed during consultation. Mr.Pearlman wanted more money to discuss helping me get the arrest taken off my record, which I found out fromD.A. Office I could do on my own without a lawyer or fee needed. Mr. Pearlman had poor communication with me following retainer fee received and contract signed. His office assistant was the only professional in this whole situation. She was lovely. Thanks to Mr. Pearlman I now feel like I was victimized twice. Please consider many other lawyers that hold true to their word that will show up to your court date. A phone call to someone he may or may not have known was never verified nor did it help my case. Mr. Pearlman knew it would get dismissed and took my money anyway without making much effort.

The lawyer didn't look at the dashcam of the police. I was mentally ill, going in and out of the rehab for Schizophrenia and had a car crash.
The police wrote completely wrong details about the incident like I was in the car and they had to drag me out, when in reality I was waiting outside the car after I had the crash.
If he wanted he could have had the case dismissed, but he convinced my family for the plea deal. Since I was newly on medicine and didn't have my mental illness in control I signed the plea. Now I have a misdemeanor.
Like you know how lawyers represent you and find an angle to fight your case, this guy never did that.

First of all let me start by saying that i was legitimately guilty.im pretty sure thats the first thing i told him.i have already been to prison for 5 years for manufacturing meth and delvery and sales of that same meth. Then i got charged with the possession of a firearm by a convicted felon. Let me mention they had a confession. However forced. They had it and the judge allowed it.hear this next part loud and clear for you real criminals who read this.minmum mandatory for this charge is 3 years in prison.that means by law i can get no less than 3 years but thats exactly what happened. The way he operates in a courtroom is amazing.they changed prosecutors 3 times because in hearings he made them look like beginners. Until they got their best guy.a real hard ass for wanting to win.and in the end i did 6 hours in jail.he sent his personal bail bondsman to the jail and had my bail posted with no money. Yes .u read this right.he also took my case on payments. And when i fell behind he let me work off some cash.who does this?no one right.well the classy people at the nejame law firm did that but more specifically mike lafay did this..also i never had to take off work for court in this year long process.i think i went a total of three times.in the end i got four years probation after the case was over and i was serving my probation he continued to be my attorney. He filed for early term two times at no extra charge.and i have been a free man for two months now.i have gained my freedom and a friend from one bad ass lawyer.#superman @ Michael Lafay. I truly beleive if had any other attorney i would have been sent back to prison on the express line.

John English is the attorney I hired for my case and he was not only on top of the issues but treated me like I was the only case he was working on. He was also very supportive throughout the entire process. John English is an excellent attorney. If I ever find myself in a legal situation again I would not hesitate to hire him and would definitely recommend him to anyone who find themselves in need of legal expertise.

Not sure where to begin.
I guess we should start with the first problem. I hired John's services 2 weeks before my first court date.
2 business days before my court date after not hearing from him. I decided to call him. Not knowing how things were going to go in court, I had a lot of questions. I was told by John that I need not to rush the court and don't worry about it we have plenty of time.
As soon as I told him court is on Monday. He immediately put me on hold and figured out that he could not even be there for my first court date.
Fortunately the firm had one of the other attorneys go to court with me and she was great. I wish I would have hired her instead of John.
The part that blew my mind was at my sentencing. The man that repeatedly told me how bad my situation was after reading statements from all parties involved. He sits down and reads the statement with the assistant of the prosecuting attorney. He then tells me that he wish he would have a chance to read that sooner. Well my first sit down meeting with him. We read through all the statements together.
I feel that I would have had the same or better results with my outcome if I would have just went with the court appointed attorney. One last thing.
Someone that has been in this line of work for 30+ years should not be stuttering and using the words um, uh, and other things like that when he is speaking to the Judge. I am a ninth grade drop out and can handle my wording better than that. Oh and yes he loved throwing in my face that I was a ninth grade drop out.
I will just say. I wish I would have saved the THOUSANDS of dollars I paid for such in incompetent service.

I retained John English of Kronzek & Cronkright, PLLC for my defense on a misdemeanor drug charge. Since I had no criminal history, I was eligible for section 7411 in Michigan. John handled my case and not only got me section 7411, but my probation was limited to 90 days with the stipulation that it would end as soon I passed a drug test. Since John had advised me to avoid all drugs including alcohol, I tested clean and was immediately released from probation. My probation lasted about 15 minutes. I was very pleased and would recommend Kronzek & Cronkright as well as John English for your defense. Thanks John.

DON'T HIRE this thing calling himself "attorney", I don't think these reviews are accurate, you'll go through one of the worst experiences in your life. He's an absolute thief. He'll over charge you badly for destroying your case. This garbage will complicate your case and make you loose it so he can get more money at the trial, very stupid, that's not how it goes, she should care about the client just like he does about money. If you are a client looking for an attorney and you get to see this review then save your money and time and consider yourself extremely lucky!

Ben Brooks is a great attorney and I do not know what my family would have done without him. Benjamin Brooks worked with my family on an issue involving my daughter. He was extremely helpful from our initial phone conversation through representing my daughter at a college hearing. Mr. Brooks, at first, tried to help move a stalled process along in an expeditious manner through repeated contact with officials and with a minimal cost to us. When it became clear that more legal representation was necessary and with very little advance notice, Mr. Brooks agreed to represent my daughter at a formal hearing and provided us with a thorough overview and advance preparation. Due to the fact that my daughter has a disability, Mr. Brooks also worked with officials to make an exception that allowed my husband and me to participate at the hearing, greatly reducing my daughter’s stress level. All I have to say is he let the statue of limitations get passed due on my accident. Since he never sued that means I cant get money on my case. I have a good case that wasnt my fault. The other car was responsable. I had to have surgery. Mister Thomas didnt want to go to court because he kept saying it costs money and he was talking to the insurance company and the other guy only had a little bit of insurance so it wasnt worth it. But he owes me to fight for me because he is my lawyer. Thats why I hired him. If it was easy I would of taken care of the case myself. But I dont know the law. But I know It wasnt my fault and I should of gotten paid. I am trying to figure out what to do about this. If anybody has advise please help me or if you have another lawyer who knows what to do please let me know.

I'm so glad I went with this firm! I've been in several car accidents—thankfully only two of them resulted in serious injuries. The first happened many years ago, and I called a high power law firm (who shall remain nameless) to pursue my case. They were great at first but then rarely got back to me or let me know what was going on, and when I finally met with the lawyers they told me that because they didn't have enough evidence my case had very limited potential and encouraged me to settle for a small amount. I thought that's just the way the law works, but through working with Mr. Lavin the second time around I've discovered there's more to it than that. First of all, the old firm told me that nothing happens right away and that I need to wait. This is true BUT there are certain things that need to be done right away, like PRESERVING EVIDENCE. I learned this during my first meeting with Mr. Lavin, when he called in his employee to send him to the intersection where the accident happened. They managed to get surveillance video from the Duane Reade on the corner which recorded the entire accident! When the insurance company refused to settle my case for a fair amount Mr. Lavin brought my case to trial, and that surveillance video ended up making a I ended up getting WAY more money than I ever hoped for. My advice to anyone injured in a car accident is to make sure to hire a firm that specializes in accident cases! Ask them what they are going to do to progress your case TODAY. And if you're in the NY area, you can't do better than the Law Office of Thomas J. Lavin!

I hired Gary Smart about 10 years ago through a recommendation from a church member. I was in a very tight legal situation out of Denton County after admitting to being partiality guilt to a crime and believing the detective would hold up to his promise to me of dropping the felony to a misdemeanor. The detective didn't hold up to it, however Attorney Smart was able to get them to change their mind and get me an extremely fair plea deal. The judge even told me "Son, you better be thankful that you hired such a great attorney, stop making dumbass decisions and get your life together". I'll forever be grateful to him fair price/payment plan, his professionalism, and care that he had shown me.

In which I was referred to Parmele for consultation and possible representation . I agreed to allow them access to my medical files for review to determine further action . In the interim and prior to surgery was working with disability help
Group to establish a case for benefits . Adam neidenberg was my attorney with disability help group . Parmele law firm attached themselves to my disability case and have asked for a percentage , after doing nothing ! They reviewed my case for medical negligence and declined to represent , but are holding to a percentage of establishing my disability case and it’s criminal at best ! Do NOT use them for anything ! The service from the very start was awful. I literally talked with the paralegal Ashley. So many times indicating you DONT represent me ,
But my signature to release my records was used to indicate some connection to receive payment to the point it is holding up my disability payout ! My true attorney felt so bad the with drew their request for payment ! Awful business

I highly suspect the 5 star reviews are fake. They keep you in the dark, hold internal meetings without your awareness and make decisions without your input or knowledge (only to learn about it at the next billing cycle) and are very, very difficult to get hold of. Almost all emails are met with out of office replies and no voicemails ever responded to. When a status hearing I did not know existed was extended by my attorney without my knowledge (only to learn this in the next billing cycle) and saw my attorney had answers to interrogatories for nearly a month without telling me only to discover this from OJS = you're fired. OJS literally laughed and smiled... like yeah good luck with that, seemed par for the course. Not to mention a strong, positive person for my case was not contacted three separate times my lawyer told me he would, only for him to say when I finally called him out that he didn't think he was important, is more than messed up, it's unethical = you're fired. Didn't trust me, and didn't even contact the person... so how would you know? That's just a small piece. I highly do not recommend this "law" firm.

So far he is right to the point, gets things done; a roll up your sleeves and plow through it kinda lawyer. I like it and hope it stays this "full steam ahead".

Patience is a virtue. Covid created excessive delay problems for all concerned. Communication with all lawyers is meh...slow and at times non existent, BUT Olga did everything she promised and agreed to. Be patient stick to the plan, let them work.

Things didn't always go exactly as hoped but still ended with 100% success.

I hired Olga back in 2018, Olga is the best lawyer that she can be. Her dedication, her loyalty, her understanding, and her means to MAKE A WAY OUT OF NO WAY. She is not only a great lawyer but she is a great caring person in her personal life. Olga has answered many of my calls non related to my case, we have spent hours on the phone and even at times she would uplift me when need to be. Not many lawyers will do that! A lot of lawyers do their job have no connection to you and are there for a paycheck, Olga & Mr. Sabbak are not those lawyers. One thing Olga will do is TRY and she will do her best! That is all a lawyer can do. Her dedication and determination to help her clients is what I like about her the most. She fights for what’s right! My case has taken 3 long years because the other defendant has lawyers who are fixers and love to drag the case out and Olga has not given up on me nor my case ever and that’s another thing I like about her! While other lawyers will get tired, Olga puts in work, figures out what can be done. She communicates things with me well and is bluntly HONEST, she doesn’t tell me what I want to hear, she tells me what I need to hear! While other lawyers may give up on you when things get hard or difficult, Olga and Mr. Sabbak do not. Disorganized and slow. They took a long time to handle anything and seemed to not actually do anything, then they requested we sign an agreement taking way more fees than I have ever seen, so we terminated all services, they must not have realized that we never agreed to any fees and in a letter stated they would take a percentage from any future payments, even though we did not have a contract or agreement.

My son was indicted for intent to harm or kill ( assault with a deadly weapon) - Obviously a felony. It was at a side road hot spring. He’s a good kid. It went to a jury trail which scared me to death.
Mike was very clear to me on telephone. Unfortunately I had serious foot surgery and couldn’t go but my former spouse did go. Mike explained the situation clearly and precisely to me. He is very adept and states the situation very straightforwardly. I am very appreciative of his efforts on my son’s behalf.

The worst attorney I've dealt with. Made disparaging comments about my race. Seldom returned phone calls and messages. Completely unorganized and unprepared. Threatened to withdraw from my case if I did not accept a plea deal. Lied to a Judge during an evidentiary hearing in order to force his withdrawal. I suggest spending your money elsewhere. Lastly, refused to send me my case file after withdrawing despite the fact that I am legally entitled to it. I would not recommend this attorney.

My experience with Allen Vellone Wolf Helfrich & Factor has been beyond great. They dug into the issues of my case and discovered things in my favor that go far beyond what other defendants in the same case appear to have missed or not seriously considered. My opinions of Jim Helfrich and Kate Sender go beyond my ability to express. The best I can say is that I trust them to do their absolute best, which I believe they have done. No bullshit.
They haven’t always told me what I want to hear, but they have always considered my opinion and that has been reflected in the things they have produced on my behalf. My case is not over, but they believe in me and have taken my side with the best they have to offer. Their rates are fair, and I have never had the feeling they were fabricating hours as so many law firms do, especially the law firm that is attacking me. I suspect I will have more to add to this review in the future.

The witness (alleged victim Judge) had provably lied on the witness stand, and Mr. Root, more concerned about preserving his career than seeking justice, threw me under the bus: the official Court transcript vs. the actual evidence on the record of the Court proves this. We needed a lawyer to act on our behalf quickly. We called Renorda and left a message on a Sunday evening. She called me back because of the tone of my voice and she knew my husband and myself needed her services. I have called Elijah Barrett every day for over a week now. The phone doesn’t even ring, it goes straight to voicemail. I have left 4 messages with my name and number over the course of a week.
