The best thing about Chris is that he is direct. He tells you what you need to know even if its going to make you unhappy. It's not his fault the law isn't perfect.

I was referred to Chris by a former client. He was always prompt, available and affable. I am still in a contested case, and Chris is the voice of reason to calm the storm. He is always available, always willing to talk and reasonable. I hope that no one ever has to go through this, but if you do, Chris is someone you want on your side.

Chris has demonstrated repeatedly that he is a truly exceptional family court attorney who is both reliable and professional. He is capable of handling complex issues with aplomb and has been a pleasure throughout an otherwise acrimonious process. I recently hired Chris Paton to represent me for my divorce. I interviewed several attorneys. The reason I hired Chris was simple...he realized that I could not afford a prolonged fight with my ex wife and I needed to settle with her, if possible, in a shorter time. My ex-wife and I had agreed on most aspects of the divorce but we disagreed on a couple of major issues. In contrast, my ex wife's attorney wanted to fight about everything and put unrealistic-no chance of winning in court- ideas in her head and seemed to want to drag the case out as long as possible. Chris was professional, gave my good advice and got my case settled in a timely manor...(my ex ended up running up a huge attorney bill and at the end, and eventually, she fired her attorney) I would recommend him highly.

Chris was great throughout my divorce and continued to offer support and advice after the divorce was final. He made sure that my goals with regard to custody, in particular, were achieved. I would recommend him highly to anyone needing divorce advice and representation.

Chris is sharp-minded, direct and to the point. He doesn't mince words and that makes him good. He doesn't try and please you and that's what make him good. My experience is that, when called for, he can be humble, and that, in my mind, makes him excellent and a step above other attorneys. Trust this man's advice. I do. The only reason I don't give him 5 stars is because we have had limited time in court so far.

Chris came recommended by a very accomplished attorney in Columbia SC. I found myself in the middle of a very messy divorce and was unsatisfied with my current attorney and state of affairs. Chris had a difficult job in managing my emotions and actions in order to sort things out and have a positive outcome. I was in tears first time I contacted him and he was kind and reassuring and not lecturing or judging. This was imperative to my current mindset. Chris helped me through a pretty difficult divorce and helped keep me from sabotaging myself. He was always honest and frank and gave me true choices rather than just follow my whims which would get me no where and cost lots of money. Divorce is ugly and Chris helped tie it up with a bow. To the end, he is on your team and when you're feeling like your whole life is in the toilet, Chris throws you a life raft. He is not going to capitalize on your situation. He is going to help you.
