I hired Sarah Whately to represent me in my divorce and custody dispute. Our relationship started off strong and I felt Sarah was truly fighting for me, however that was shortly lived. I started to notice a change in Sarah once my initial retainer of $5000 started to deplete. I hired Sarah because I had pending Rule to show cause/Contempt my ex was threatening me to file. When Sarah was hired we learned that my ex had serious pending charges which leveled out the circumstances, according to her. Instead of filing contempt motion on ex she blew through my retainer ($50.00 per email, sent and received costing hundreds of dollars a day) . Literally months later when he finally complied with request made, Sarah began to default to the other side. She sent opposing counsel a discovery request and then took my ex's answers and used them to interrogate me especially during our mediation. I signed an extremely unfair separation agreement after hours of being pressured by Sarah and our mediator. Every time I asked Sarah if we can negotiate some other options to settle the answer was no. It was clear that Sarah was not supporting me. Even our mediator told me "if I didn't sign the separation agreement that Sarah would write a very strong letter AGAINST ME that would hold a lot of weight to a Judge. She did not defend my rights or my son rights (ex desired to move out of state). Sarah was relieved as counsel and when I picked up my case file looking over the documents I literally wanted to throw up. Sarah had let my ex get away with keeping the funds to martial home, dipping into pension accounts, filing fraudulent tax returns to receive child tax credit, not paying half of medical bills and daycare payments, no child support, filling for divorce illegally because he didn't meet residency requirements, and forging my signatures on Deed papers to the sell of our home. Which all were violation of our court orders. The best part is she charged me for 7 hours of reviewing documents @ $250.00 an hour in preparation for mediation. When I called to speak to the office manager, Ethan, regarding these issues he told me, because of the rule to show cause that was pending, basically giving my ex EVERYTHING HE WANTED and ignoring all the court order violations my ex committed was in my child's and I best interest. What the hell!!??! I did everything Sarah ask me to do during her time representing me. If there was nothing she could have done to help me in the first place she should have never taken my retainer. She ruined the next couple of years of my child's and I lives. It's going to cost thousands to undue the botch job of Sarah's representation and we've given her all we had.

Previously I posted this firm aa a 5 star......but don't depend on them to do much once you stop doing their work for them.....no follow-up on emails or phone calls. Acknowledge I'm out of state and the divorce got difficult....but isn't that why we retain divorce counsel. So unprofessional on so many levels....I don't know what happen to this place????

Everyone at Morris law firm is very nice and helpful. Every question I had they answered and helped me to understand. I was in a car accident and they helped me get my car fixed and helped with medical. They are great! I got my car fixed and got the medical help I needed because of them! I definitely recommend Morris law firm!
