Scott B. Umstead and his entire staff were very efficient and knowledgeable about the process of both handling the sale of one condo and purchasing a new condo. I would highly recommend their law firm for anyone looking to sell or purchase a condo or other property. Scott Umstead and his team were wonderful! This was my first time home buying experience and they kept me informed every step of the way and answered any questions I needed! On closing day as I sat in the office excited, they were so warm and welcoming. Scott went through every single document, explained everything, and made sure I understood what I was signing, explained the dreaded DMV/ legal residence rate process thoroughly. He even offered to take pictures for me! Everyone was so nice and kind.I can’t thank you all enough and I will recommend anyone I know buying a home.

I had never heard of Scott B. Umstead prior to entering into this home purchase. Having not been in the area for a few decades I asked my real estate agent if he knew a trustworthy attorney to help with the closing. He recommended Scott and I could not be happier that he did. From the minute I contacted the firm I was greeted with a helpful and friendly demeanor from every single person I spoke with. A few days into our relationship I received a personalized welcome video from Scott introducing himself and talking about some of the personal information he had learned about us and I thought wow, what a class act. Seriously, I could barely get my closing attorney to respond to an email let alone get her on the phone when I sold my last house (Which had some real issues with the buyers) and here is this Gentleman taking time out of his day to ask questions about his client(s) and film a personal video introducing himself and speak about us personally and what he learned about our family. Meeting Scott in person at the closing was no less warm than speaking with him on the phone or communicating through media. He is a an extremely gracious gentleman and really hip guy, no I mean for real this dude is cool and is as meticulous as his office which is nothing short of awesome. Scott took plenty of time explaining everything in a manner that was clearly understandable and was able to answer any and all questions, and emphasized that if I had anymore later to be sure and call and he would answer them as well. Scott's staff are equally as personable, professional, and knowledgeable. Communication was constant and everyone who touched our file made sure we had everything we needed for the transaction. A big shout out to Ashley who continued to work diligently from home with pneumonia the last few days before our closing to make sure everything was in order. Yes that's correct the woman was home sick as a dog working on our closing. If your in need of an attorney especially coming from out of state, Don't think twice, Scott is alright.
