My experience with Scott was very pleasurable and professional. I would recommend his professional services to anyone.

As a first time home buyer, I’ve always heard horror stories about closings from others, who claimed there was a mountain of paperwork, endless signatures, and most importantly, no real explanation of what you’re signing for. While the first two stories might be unavoidable, the third is certainly not. I was fortunate enough that I trusted my realtors recommendation, and I couldn’t be more happy with my closing. Scott was polite, professional, and answered every question I asked. With the recent events of Covid-19, adjustments were made so he would still be right there in plain sight to explain every piece of paper I would be signing. I couldn’t have asked for a better experience with my first closing as I had with Scott and his team, and I will definitely be using them again when I purchase another home down the road!

I purchased a home Myrtle Beach, S.C. relocating from Dallas, TX. Knowing no one in Myrtle Beach, my mortgage company recommended I use Scott Umstead's office. Trusting them I chose Mr. Umstead but to be honest I was expecting the usual Attorney experience when closing on a house, a few emails, perfunctory interaction and the feeling that you are just one more client in a long line of many. This is my 5th home purchase; I have been through this before. I am writing this review to say that I could not have been more wrong! My experience was far and above exemplary. I was treated with the utmost kindness, patience, and care in addition to the professionalism and competency one expects from an Attorney. It was obvious from day one that Mr. Umstead has a culture where people, not just the job at hand matter. I would highly recommend hiring Scott Umstead, PA. This office made the sale/closing of my property so easy for me and I had no idea what to do. They answered any and all of my questions and were very understanding and kind to me. Selling a property can be very stressful, but not with this office. I had a great experience with Scott B. Umstead, P.A. I was deeply appreciative of the time that Dawn spent with me to answer questions about my closing even though it was well past 5pm by the time she was able to return my call. She was very friendly, professional and patient. Scott was also terrific. During my closing, he explained all the documents to me very clearly, answered my questions and also gave me extra information about taxes, utilities etc that would make my life easier! Scott and staff were extremely friendly and easy to talk to. Closing was painless and surprisingly enjoyable. I also appreciated how they set up their office and the closing process to accommodate social distancing. Would definitely recommend!

Mr. Umstead and his staff were very warm and welcoming. Our meeting was on time and all the paperwork was in order and ready for us to sign. He was very thorough when explaining the paperwork that we had been given. Because of the pandemic, they had safety precautions in place to make sure that we were safe in his office.
