There's no shortage of people in this state who aren't good at their job, but I've never encountered anything like the St George Magistrate's court office. The people I have dealt with in the office said that I would get follow-up contact, and follow up emails, and I never got any contact instead just got told I would, this lied to. And I guess they went about their day like they never talked to me and never lifted a finger for anything I have paper trails I have email chains. They don't care. The Magistrate's office are not only bad at their jobs but lie to cover up about it, to a criminal extent. So much so where they could ruin people's lives, but they don't care. I hope the kind employee that I was dealing with in September 2024 and then left or was fired in October 2024 is in a better place because they were the nicest person that I dealt with on the phone there, but they still didn't do their job as it seems that no one in that magistrate's office does anything except lie to you on the phone. I wish I could leave zero stars 👎🏼 It's called the corridor of shame for a reason. Shameful with poverty And extremely shameful behavior Highly unprofessional

When you're referred to an attorney...and you ask "are you familiar with the DCPC?"...and that attorney takes in a deep breath and slowly exhales and responds "yes"...and after explaining your experience with the DCPC that attorney describes the level of mendacity and "discriminatory practices"...as another attorney stated..."very concerning what that attorney said"...understanding a number of attorneys are aware of reputations...associated with appointed attorneys...as a 20 year military veteran I recently was made aware of "other veterans" that have voiced concerns regarding their experiences...perhaps another DOJ complaint is in order...

Very rude and unhelpful. To think, you are dealing with people who are in bereavement and you can’t muster up any empathy for what your customer may be going through. I can only pray that God touch your hearts. The two people that helped or shall I say barely assisted me today 8/23/24 should not work with the public at all especially not grieving people. So very sad, and from the ratings, it looks as though no one cares to make corrections. Town of friendly people. Really?

Melissa from the legal guardianship office is absolutely professional and awesome. She has helped me tremendously. Need more employees like her!!

It's a government function office. Enough said. Staff is probably underpaid which makes them underhelpful. On the off chance someone answers the phone, they are 50/50 on being worth the phonecall.

Maybe if they get enough 1 star reviews, the clerk will fix the problems. 1st, we're in 2023, why are we only able to communicate by snail mail?! 2nd, it would be nice if they updated their forms to tell people what needs to be original documents and what can be copies. This would eliminate having to make multiple trips. 3rd, again we are in 2023. Why do they only take cash payments?! This generally screams money fraud crimes. Time to get your junk together.

I needed help with a Probate matter that should be relatively simple. After all, it's only a matter of a few hundred dollars. You have a large application to fill out that must be mailed in, NO EXCEPTIONS. They don't want you coming into their office asking questions or submitting paperwork in person. And they also don't like answering questions on the phone or being of any kind of assistance whatsoever. Why is it I can call into downtown Charleston and get exceptional service, but in St. George they act as if you are not worthy of their efforts? Having to deal with this headache over less than $400 after my spouse died...sorry, I just don't have the vocabulary to describe how angry I am.

Very RUDE, very unprofessional, they ignore you while your on the phone with them. Then say snude comments.. No compassion, about you loosing your family member, they send you on multiple goose chases. They will not answer questions, or help you in the right direction. Working in probate people have lost loved ones and sometimes have a hard time understanding and need just a little more one on one help. They offer none, they even look at you as if your below them. They are in the wrong profession people are already having to deal with a hard time, no need for them to act the way they do. Maybe hire some new people and give that woman a much needed break.. if I could give no stars I would
