In nearly thirteen years of practice, I vividly recall the three opposing counsel with whom I've dealt whose civility, objectivity, and impeccable moral character left an indelible impression on me. Ms. Gray is among those three.
It's a rarity to have consistently fruitful interactions with opposing counsel, simply because the legal system is inherently adversarial. Lawyers must advocate for their clients, and many lawyers misinterpret "advocate" to mean "fight," in the most raw, visceral sense of the word. A skilled attorney can still fight for their clients while simultaneously maintaining a mutual respect and sense of decorum with the attorney on the other side, and Ms. Gray does so effortlessly. It's the old adage of "catching more flies with honey..."
She and I had a case recently that, if being handled by two hothead attorneys, could easily have been contentious. Yet, because of her transparency, effective communicative style, and affable personality, we were able to resolve things amicably. She's the type of attorney a client wants on their side, and the type opposing counsel longs to deal with more often.

I've shared that with many people over the years when they were faced with situations they were helpless to change.
