What a team at the Cate Law Firm. From my first visit with nervous anticipation i experienced each and every time over the course of a year the expertise of each person in the firm. .Beginning at the front desk i came to know that there would always be a kind and personal greeting . The paralegal's tireless energy and resourcefulness was constant and dependable. The business office always gave me quality answers to my questions. As time went on, other team members of the firm contributed with me in mind to the efficiency , timeliness and cost effectiveness of my case. During my first visit in Ruth's office i knew that she would be the attorney to guide, advise, counsel and work on my behalf with vigor, kindness, sensitivity and most of all integrity. Her work ethic , knowledge of the law and professional manner is only out measured by her willingness to listen and learn the heart of her client. The team at the Cate Law Firm is a great expression of a family law practice that is established and operates by both professional and personal care for their clients.

I hired Ruth Cate as my attorney at the recommendation of a friend who said she was the best in the business. While she has been my only attorney, I can honestly say that she did an awesome job for me. I was scared but knew I had to file for divorce to get child support for my kids. Ruth took immediate action and although we had to go to court to do it, I was able to get child support pretty quickly. The divorce was not easy, but she was there for me the entire way. She always responded to my emails quickly and never hesitated to meet with me if I wanted it. I was very pleased with the outcome and I do believe it was a result of her hard work. The cost of the divorce was hard for me, but Ruth was willing to work with me and was extremely supportive and understanding of my situation. My divorce was final a year ago, but she did not hesitate to meet with me recently to go over some issues that have come up. One thing is for sure, if you are honest and give her all the facts, she will fight hard for you. I am very grateful.

Ruth, Maggie, Rachel and the fine folks at Ruth's firm are just too good for words. I was going to write a review anyway after they settled an impossible case in a way that is beyond epic, then saw a negative review about her. Ruth and Maggie have a very subtle approach. They just focus on results. They tell you what your case looks like, what you have going for and against you (they can only do that to the degree you're honest with them). Some people are legal experts and feel they can judge lawyers b/c they know they're right - there's never a shortage of complainers. Look around at the reviews, not just here but elsewhere, you'll see nothing but raves about how Ruth and crew saved the day. I saw the verbatim complaint posted somewhere else. Well I'll just say this. Our case took 4 years to settle. It cost a fortune. All the while, Ruth looked out for us every step of the way. In the end, not only did she get us a Win in every sense of the word, she did the impossible. And we just got our bill with a notable credit. So much for lawyers being in it for the money. We were the ones wanting to push the case to trial b/c 'we knew we'd win'. It would have cost us a small fortune to prove we were right. Instead , we listened to the trained experienced professionals who got us all we wanted and more and did it without us even having to attend a court hearing. 4 years is a long time and certainly might look like 'dragging it on' to the lay person but our case was impossible. She worked magic like she always does. We appreciate her work so much, we're donating $1,000 plus the amount of the credit to her favorite charity just as a thank you. You can believe the sour grapes reviewer that went out of their way to trash her, assume it was a freak mistake or believe the countless positive reviews about her and her firm. Seriously, do your homework, ask around. See if you can find another lawyer (even ones she's beat, there's plenty of them) that can say a bad word about her or anyone at her firm. After 25 years (yah, when you see her you'll be shocked she could be practicing 1/2 that long but she has) in a small down like this, you develop a reputation. Her's is stellar which is how we found her. What she did for us is next to impossible to describe. I just can't thank her enough (I'm not one lost for words very often). What would it take you to take $1,500 and donate it to a charity of your attorney's favorite charity as a Thank You gesture? Well, that's what she did for us. I'm proud to sign my name and so will my wife. The stress, the hassle, helping our daughter, it's priceless and that's par for the course. If you think you know more than the best family court lawyer in town, so be it. If you need constant hand holding and are looking to settle a score, she's not the lawyer for you. If you care about your family and getting what's best for you and treating everyone fairly , you won't find anyone like her (and I keep saying "her" - the same goes for the people at her firm, if someone wasn't cut from the same cloth they wouldn't be there). Thank You Ruth, Maggie, Rachel and everyone else. We'll never forget what you've done for us and neither will our daughter.

If Ruth Cate was able to have negative Stars she would be so far in the negative it would be unbelievable. To waste your money on her services is an understatement. She is worthless she does nothing for you and she gets nothing accomplished. She was the biggest waste of money I ever spent in my entire life. Nor would I ever recommend this woman for anything do with law.because in her words she is a senior lawyer but yet she knows nothing about the law in South Carolina. She knows nothing about her clients or what's going on with her clients.she will scream yell and cuss at you while you're in her office but yet you're the one paying her money. She is the most disrespected lawyer I've ever met in my entire life. And for people to call her a lawyer is absolutely unbelievable.I do not recommend that anyone use her services or anyone in her building for anything whatsoever because you are doing nothing but getting screwed.she is only there to take your money and run with it she does nothing for you or what you're there for.she only shows up to court and takes your money out of your bank account every other week.when she shows up the court she doesn't even have the correct filings that you've asked her to file in the beginningso of course once again she gets her money but she doesn't ask for you to get your money back because oops she made a mistake.I'm sorry but if you're this big time lawyer big Time lawyers don't make mistakes like she has. On numerous accounts has she made mistakes on my own hearing I can't imagine on other people's I am wanting everyone do not use her as a lawyer she is worthless and does not need or deserve your hard-earned money when she does nothing at all.I will give props where props are due her paralegal Kia is a wonderful woman who does her best to deal with Ruth and the best way she can because working for Ruth I can't imagine is to be the worst experience of her entire life. I don't see how I woman can lay her bher head down at night and know that she has messed up someone's life completely and utterly with even the judge saying that the plaintiff got more than he deserved with her being paid 10 * 4 with a plaintiff lawyer was paidso if anyone's needing a lawyer please use Paul mcphail he's great he'll get you what you need and he's a flat rate lawyer that you won't spend thousands of money before and get nothing in return.

DO NOT WASTE YOUR HARD-EARNED MONEY. GET A FLAT RATE LAWYER HIS NAME IS PAUL MCPHAIL!!! HE BEATS HER EVERY TIME YET SHE CHARGES THREE TIMES MORE THAN HE DOES.SHE DOESN'T KEEP UP WITH CLIENTS SHE KNOWS NOTHING ABOUT YOUR CASE AND SHE'S RUDE CUSSES AND SCREAMS AT YOU LIKE YOU'RE THE ONE SHE'S PAYING! I TRULY WISH WE NEVER WOULD HAVE HIRED HER AS AN ATTORNEY I WISH EVERY DAY THAT I CAN TAKE IT BACK! I WOULD NEVER RECOMMEND HER FOR ANYTHING.
