Ashley Hudson Scott is a wonderful lawyer in Walterboro ,S.C. She and her legal team at Smoak & Hudson Law Firm have been so helpful to me and my children as I was going through my divorce. She always took the time to talk to me and return my phone calls when I had questions and concerns. She always made sure that I understood everything that was going on .They kept me informed of everything and made sure that I understood everything that was going on with my case. I just want everyone to know what a wonderful ,dependable, caring lawyer Ashley is . Ashley,Kristy ,and Bunny helped me through one of the toughest things in my life. I highly recommend this law firm to anyone who needs a concerned and caring lawyer.

No matter what you have going on little or big and need legal help, you have to go to Ashley and her team. I have seen and been to others in this area and her and her team are the best. Ashley and her team make you their priority even though they have multiple cases in multiple areas. This may be their job but the biggest difference between them and others is this is their passion. They are there for you. They want to help you. They want to watch you succeed. Ashley and Kristy put their all in everything they do. It may be just a simple phone call but they are always there always supportive and always have you as their number one. Thank you so much for fighting for me and helping me and bringing my life back to a completely whole again. It is because of this office and this team that I can be the father I want to be and help my kids. Thank you.

Ashely has been and still is my lawyer. As a client I know for a fact that she is the best lawyer ever. Ashley has stayed on top of my case and made sure that I understood everything that was going on in divorce and custody case. She is even awesome about not overcharging me. I would recommend her to anyone that needs a lawyer she knows her stuff and gets down to work when it comes time. She has always answered or returned my calls immediately and made it a point to make sure that everything works out in the best interest for me and my child.

My experience with Ashley as my lawyer was a varied one. At first, everything was as expected. She was courteous and genuinely seemed to care about my predicament and getting me what I wanted, which was visitation or some kind of custody of my daughter. This, she did in the form of an agreement which we haven't agreed on with the other party as of now.She wrote an agreement for us and it included 90% of what I expected to receive so I had no arguments there. The bad came when I would ask for the invoice stating how much I had paid and how much money was left in my escrow account for her to borrow from. From July 2015 to late January 2016 I heard no word on the amount of money she had used even though I asked multiple times. She also assured me not to worry and that she would let me know as soon as I was close to reaching my cap so we could discuss options. This never happened. After being fed up with such a lengthy process, I hinted at dropping Ashley as it seemed she was no longer working for me to provide a service and instead was doing her bare minimum to keep up with my case. I'm a fair guy, I understand all about having a workload. This was something else entirely. The worst part of my entire experience was when I hinted at letting Ashley go as my lawyer and receiving the invoice in how much she had spent the very next day. The very next day. Whether a coincidence or perfect timing, I really could care less. What a ridiculous thing to do to a client who has already paid you a good sum of money. That was bad. The fact that we had met my cap of 3000$ and went over by 500$ without hearing any word at all, that's what really did it to me. I'm not out to get anyone with this post, I'm out to inform about my experience in hopes she doesn't do this to another client. I dropped her as my lawyer and will move on to alternatives who will hopefully be much more productive and punctual within reason.

This is a scam. If you want someone who works for your rights and sends you constant feedback, then I would turn the other way. We hired her so we can try to get full custody for child support. It was a long shot, but it was worth a try. We are at the point were visitation is at once every three months. Mind you, its clear as crystal that the mom is unfit for her daughter. No job, no car, section 8, food stamps. You name it, shes on it. The girl even charged me when I was pregnant! If it wasnt for her cousins, she wouldve tried to fight me. I was 7 months pregnant. I told my lawyer at this law firm, and the only advice I got was to ignore it. We couldve pressed charges or something. Then, with our child support, we pay 650/month. When we had our son, it was supposed to go down, but I guess the $100/month "promotion" my husband got, "evened" out the child support, because even with our son, the child support is not going to go down. We asked to get a break out of the child support, and she says they cant do that. Thats BS, because we need to know what we are covering. Food, clothes, day care? Insurance? Then, my favorite worst customer service ever, She had initially told us she will give us a heads up when our $3,000 reached its peek. My husband has asked MULTIPLE TIMES through out this course to get an update of whats being charged and how much is left. NOT ONCE did she even tell us an estimate, nor did she give us a heads up. -400 later, and en email saying we are done with her services, she lets us know. What wouldve happened if we wouldnt have told her that we are done with her service? Would she have kept charging us until one day we have a -5,000 debt we were not notified on? She never called us, never emailed us. Shoot, shes charging $20 AN EMAIL, that she sends out ONE ever 3 months?? unless you email her first, (constantly) until she FINALLY replies.
