Margaret, Melanie and their team gave me hope from the moment I walked in and had my consultation. I had already gone through a divorce and parenting plan represented by another "big wig" attorney in town who made me feel small and rushed through proceedings...never touched base...never called to check on me...and rushed me through mediation (one of the toughest days I've faced in a long time due to the parenting plan portion). I honestly didn't know if I could go through with another attorney sitting back telling me that the judge isn't going to give me the custody I want and deserve, despite my ex having a horrific track record with drug use, never attempting to see his own daughter, not paying child support or being a responsible parent when he did actually see her, etc. After much research, I came across Held Law Firm and their grassroots efforts caught my eye. I read several reviews of mom like me who won similar cases and it gave me hope. Without hesitation, I scheduled a consultation with Margaret. She didn't doubt for one second that I would win. She immediately introduced me to her team - all amazing people. I love how they all work so closely together on cases. The firm in nestled in the coziest of homes downtown Knoxville - not your typical stuffy office. When it came time to get to work and filing motions, Melanie got right to work. She wrote up the first draft to review with me. I gave a little bit of my input that she added in and then we got it sent off! Every time we got a response, she called me right away and was quick reassure me and then get a response for us back out. The end result was me gaining full custody. It is a temporary full custody plan that requires the other party to provide six months of clean drug screens, proof of income, child support, etc. I couldn't be more ecstatic. Melanie literally did everything I imagined and more. On top of that, she has continued to e-mail me regularly asking how we are doing and to let me know that there has been no news (it eases my mind to hear). That is a good attorney!

I hired Melanie to represent me while trying to modify my parenting plan. She is very knowledgeable, personable and kept me informed throughout the entire process. Melanie has been with me through a tough child custody case,she is very detail oriented and a good planner,she was firm but also reasonable(as was i)with our mediation.
