One of the most aggressive, honest and client orientated lawyers I have ever come across. Don't get mad because of the slow communication, the man is busy with other cases than your personal plight. Email him, be proactive and honest. Don't be lazy and expect him to know or dig for all the details of your case. he will fight for you and get back to you when he can. He spoke up and intimidated two different lawyers in my defense they looked like two chihuahuas shaking and snarling. The judge listened to logical reasoning, Bill and ruled in our favour. Bill communicates with all the pertinent people behind the scenes while you are oblivious. This lawyer takes care of you. You pay for what you get and he is worth every penny!! Bill Hickman is a crook. He lies about the amount of hours he works to deplete your deposit. He lies about his availability. He will sneak and hide and avoid phone calls to the point you have to call him from a different number if you want to talk to him. He is the stereotypical slime ball lawyer that has no integrity and only cares about the money and not your case.

Bill was very unorthodox as an attorney, but I had high hopes when he received a $2500 retainer for a contested divorce that was a discount from someone he had previously done a cut and dry divorce case for. I was thankful and excited he was going to get this done for me and I was very patient at first. He was on the ball and responsive the first couple months, all though he was hard to contact, none the less, I was grateful. From November 2021 to June 2022 I am not further along with the divorce than filing our paperwork with the court and getting a proposed parenting plan. There were 2 incidents where he did not return any calls for 4 weeks and left me hanging. I tried to call his phone, which is a cell phone not an office phone, left voicemails, texted, and even tried to have a third party contact him. He moved offices and never told me where or even contacted me to let me know he got a new office. I thought he took my money and split. It wasn't until I was speaking with another attorney that I got his new office address, called from another number other than my cell phone, and he answered that call first time. He proceeded to lie when he found out it was me on the phone and said "I was just about to call you", after 4 weeks or so with no contact and that was not from a lack of me trying to contact him. After I fired him, he then proceeded to say he worked 11.6 hours on my case and gave me $500 back from the retainer. Stating in detailed time sheet that we spoke on the phone way more times then we actually did. Mind you, we hadn't gotten past the proposed parenting plan nor mediation and our trial date was 2 months away and he was not answering my calls. He always said he was waiting on the other party's attorney, which was also a lie. I highly DO NOT recommend Bill Hickman as a attorney if you don't have a cut and dry case. This experience has been nothing short of a disaster for me and I hope no one else has to go through this with him.
