Last year I was hit by a driver with no license or insurance. Eric Mogy's office took care of everything, guiding me through the entire process, from repairs to personal injury claim. While I had a minor issue wt the end of the process, overall my experience was positive.

Since day one going into the office I felt rushed by Sherman ( which was the first strike) but I gave him the benefit of the doubt due to reviews!! Only thing was made clear was he will charge me $350, that I paid in full the next day over the phone with his assistant via square app so it totaled $375.
About 6 months passes and out of curiosity I searched to see if I had a warrant, and low and behold I had one that was issued 4 months prior to that!!
Went all the way downtown that day just to be, again, RUSHED!! Was told to come back down there the next morning. Went the next morning only to be told he was too busy that day, and to come that following morning. Went that following morning just to be told to come the next morning. This cycle lasted about 4 days!!! Mind you I live all the way in Cordova, worked on Collierville, but kept wasting my time going back and forth downtown for absolutely NOTHING!!
Gave it a few days, went back to see if we could get the warrant cleared and again, you guessed it!! Come back the next morning!! (Just forget I have a whole warrant, just continue to have me traveling back and forth huh?) What a joke!!)
Finally get him to court and I told him that it’s crunch time for me because i just received a promotion and they’re giving me a time limit to have documents showing this is being dismissed/expunged. However; I’m immediately confronted with a plea deal of community service by MY DEFENSE lawyer, but I’m desperate at this point so I was like whatever!! He told me just get a letter from someone stating I did 2 days of community service. It could be a church, neighbor, etc.
Searched and searched for organizations to do community service. No one is accepting court ordered community service. Luckily, I found a church (Catholic Charities of West Tennessee) they were AWESOME!! That was able to get me in there, and do my 2 days of service and write my letter for court.
Because my court date wasn’t until Nov. 15 and my deadline was Nov. 10 to have documents, I ended up losing my promotion and current job!! Over a situation that I thought was handled in Jan. And the constant trips to the office, nonchalant attitude, and just simply not giving a damn. I think it’s safe to say Jack Sherman cost me my job!! but wait, there’s more!!
Get to court Nov 15 and yep Sherman was no where to be found!! Hours later, I called the assistant so she could text him and let him know I was there (never any direct contact) Court was getting empty. Everyone else’s lawyer had them in and out, I’m constantly just sitting. More time had passed, no Sherman. I was literally the LAST person in the court room. Only reason my name was called is because they were calling roll to issue warrants. Like, WOW!!
Get up there just for them to tell me me my little “letter” that (Sherman)!! told me to get was insufficient!!! They said they stopped doing that along time ago because it couldn’t be verified, and that all community services actually goes through the court for verification purposes. (Hmm, which why it’s called court-ordered community service) The judge felt so bad for me that he kept reassuring me that I did nothing wrong, I had just simply hired a very poor choice for a lawyer!! Now that came out the judge mouth himself!!
Finally, feeling deeply sorry for me, the judge dismissed my case with 0 court cost, and also put in an expungement order. The exact document that I told Sherman I needed to keep my job. Wow!!
I’m leaving the court room at 12:55 (court starts at 9am) and guess who I see?? Sherman!!! I think I gave that man the ugliest look my face could make, and kept walking to get my expungement order.
Long story short I do not recommend this lawyer! I lost my job and $375.
Oh yeah, I couldn’t get a refund because I don’t have a valid receipt from him. (which was never given because I paid over the phone on the square app) however I do have it in my bank statement for proof. So with all this being said, I may have another case brewing!!
